'96 Chevy Impala SS detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!

A local tuner shop that I do a bunch of detail work for here in Marietta (www.rpmotorsport.com) gave me a call to come detail a recent customer's ride. The car is a 1996 Chevy Impala SS with about 70K miles on the odometer. As far as I could tell the Dark Cherry Metallic paint is original and in pretty decent shape (a few stone chips here and there). The guys at RP Motorsport dropped a 396c.i. LT1 motor in this puppy and it has 410 rwhp and 500 foot pounds of torque AT THE REAR WHEELS!!!!  It idles like a kitten and is truly a modern day sleeper. If you have a late model GM product and live in the southeast I would highly recommend giving these guys a call.

The detail:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class Shampoo

Polish with Meg's #83 DACP with my PC set at 5 using a Meg's 8006 pad

Seal with Meg's #20 with my PC set at 4 using a Meg's 9006 pad

Enjoy!

Mike:cool:

My dad used to drive a Caprice for the county--what a beast. It was a friendly giant. Those impalas were so awesome though.

That color is nice and you did a really good job. Reflective. And I agree those wheels are sweet!

Excellent work! Easy combo too!

Did you get to test the car at high speeds, you know, just to make sure the wax doesn't fly off at 100 mph + ?

THANK YOU all for the kind words!! I love these old Impala's too...it's another one of those cars GM dropped the ball on (like the camaro and firebird). It makes me sick to think that they replaced this car with a front drive econobox. Granted, the new Impala SS has a supercharged V6 but to me it still isn't the same!

Iceman40 including equipment set-up and some interior work it took me about 4 hours from start to finish.

Redcar GUY you are right those are 17x9.5" ROH wheels fitted with 255/40/ZR17 Bridgestone's.

Scott HAHAHAHA...nah I did not drive it but I did "goose" her in the parking lot and man it just lit up the tires like nobody's business!!!

Blue-Sun I have to admit....that pic is a shameless plug!!!:o

Terry I love when the guys at RP Motorsport are on my schedule...I always know I going to clean something that is just ABSOLUTELY SICK!:up
