95 Acura Integra interior problem

That's the passenger side of the car as you can see. The actual material that supports it underneath is cracked off (like, you can feel the solid parts and where it's cracked and you can push the crack part in to a point-- think of it like punching a hole into styrofoam but it's still attached on one end).



I know I could never make it perfect or probably even close to perfect, but what CAN I do to fix it up a little bit? The wrinkled material is totally loose and you can push in all of the bumped up parts.
 
Unless you can replace the dash it doesn't look to be the job for anything less than a specialist if there even is such a thing for something like that. How about a dash cover?
 
I remember reading something about placing a hot towel over leather to smooth it out. Would that work for this/could it damage the dash further?
