'93 Toyota Supra turbo detail

Detailing Rottweiler
Hey all!!

I've posted pics of this ride in the past. It belongs to a good friend and client of mine that owns and operates a local dyno shop www.dynolab.net. It's a '93 model that has been modded to the max...I don't think one bolt on the car has not been turned. I don't know much about these types of cars but can give some general mods. It has a huge single turbo, a race built Turbo 400 transmission, wide body kit, massive StopTech brakes...the list is endless and I am not doing the car justice. Running on pump gas with "conservative" boost levels it is good for high 400's rwhp and 500+ rear wheel torque. With race gas and more boost it is even more insane. The numbers seem low because the converter and transmission eat up so much but don't let them fool you as this car is stupid fast. How do I know??? Well the owner took me for a ride in it today after I was done with it and let me tell you...the "pucker factor" is so far off of the charts it is unreal. I've been around fast cars my whole life and have gone for hell rides in some wicked machines but I have to say without question this Supra is the sickest car I have ever had the pleasure of being a copilot in!! :2thumbs: Once the boost is built the car just pushes you back in your seat and gives the sensation of being strapped to a rocket. Being an auto it never drops boost and just keeps you pinned in your seat...an awesome feeling. It doesn't end there, this car does it all. We entered a long sweeping turn at triple digit speeds and the car stayed balanced and flat like we were doing 50mph. When it came time to brake this SOB would literary stand on its nose...just amazing. Reason number 1,547,983 why I treasure my job.

The paint was in great shape as it is a garaged weekend toy. The worst of it was some light marring from using QD on too dirty of a panel or from a poor quality towel. The interior was in spectacular condition considering the 100K+ mileage on it. Below is a description of products and process used.

Enjoy,

Mike

:shocked sweet!!!! omg that car is soooo sexy!! :shocked

great job :bow

what is the name of that color paint?

I know NOT to mess with them....just one of a couple of cars in an unspoken code which says "Hands Off".

Awesome detail Mike!

The paint looks so deep and wet! Killer metallic shots too. :)

Getting rides in stupid fast cars is one of our perks, eh Mike? ;)

Gotta love the lines. How was the quality of the fiberglass front fenders and rear quarter panels? Sometimes the quality of fiberglass body work can be deceiving in pictures.

Nice to see another Supra. Sexy cars ain't they? :)

rides? those are fun, but the best customers let you do a test drive :lol

Thanks all for the kind words!!!

Mr Singh unfortunately no...the rims are O.Z. Racing, tires are Toyo's (a road race style) and brakes all the way around are StopTech.

seth812 I'm not sure of the color name. I believe it is a custom mix that the whole car was sprayed in when the body kit was installed.

Scott no doubt!!! It's sometimes the best part of the job. :D

Bryan...will do. There was a Quick silver/Mod red Z06 getting power tested when I was there. He wanted a baseline before he brought it to Chris's favorite tuner shop for a H/C package. :nervous2:

MDSUPERSTAR fit and finish are excellent...the fenders and quarters looked like they could have been factory installed. The only part that is a bit dubious is the hood. You could actually press on it with just a finger and make a pressure point because it is so thin.

WOW WOW WOW. That car looks awesome. Those wheels are super rare now too since OZ stopped making them in 3piece 2+ years ago. Nice stuff.

You should of told him to take a :bat with him. That might be the only way he will get treated right at our friends favorite shop. :furious:

Did you offer him any advise or is it not worth your time?

You really brought out that flake! Finish looks great!

However, I don't care much for the body kit...I like the skin from the factory just fine.
