In hindsight... their are some micromarring spots left... I think speed glaze was still a little aggressive for the final polish. I should have finished up w/ SSR1 or #82 I suppose... maybe later on.

Let me know how it looks.

Thanks a lot guys... just learning here... but me and my friend Chris are trying to learn quick, because we want to start getting customers!

On that topic? Think our work is good enough now to be doing other cars? And how much would you charge for a job like the one in this thread?

As far as time... felt like FOREVER. We broke it up into different days. Probably 6-7 hours of JUST polishing.

For something like that, I would charge $150 for the exterior only

Do you do your work via pc, cyclo, rotary? Also, do you and your friend both have one?

PC, and only I have one right now. We just try to split up tasks some... or have one of us follow behind to buff off polish/wax. Think we'd save alot of time using two PCs?

EDIT: Also, how much would you charge for an interior generally?

Well for a full detail on a car I charge $200, but it depends on the condition and how much time you think it is going to take. Decide what you want to make hourly and then charge accordingly.

-You would probably save time getting 2 pc's but I dont know if you would want to purchase another because while one of you is polishing the other could be working on the interior, getting in the nooks and crannies, doing all the little stuff like working on the rims or tires, wheel wells. I know Scottwax and his boys have more than one machine, but they are also doing more than one vehicle most of the time - so if you think you are going to be having 3 cars to detail in a day or something...then another PC would probably pay off.

definitely a 150 dolalr exterior if not more. keep in mind that if that car was taken to most body shops or body shop/paint work/detailers, id say the average for an exterior is 200, many who i know of would use a rotary and compound the entire exterior glaze and wax. when you are completely comfortable with others cars charge by the hour if you wish. most interiors i do i charge between 60-80 dollars depending on the size and filth meter. includes vac shampoo crack crevice swab apc all platic and vinyl clean condition leather and dress entire interior with 303 aerospace/fabric protector. all depends on if youre steam cleaning the seats if applicable or outrageous things like removing the seats to shampoo EVERYTHING.

Exterior on that should've been at least $150, I would've upped it to about $200-225. 6-7 hours is a LOT of polishing.

What did the owner say?

oh forgot to mention the body guys i know would touch up everything that can be and color sand before compunding, maybe thats where the price difference comes into play. its pretty easy stuff to learn though you might be iinterested in doing so if you dont already.

Wanna point me in the right direction? dono how I feel about that.

Also, BTW... don't know how you charge only 80 for interior... being that you including a crack crevice swabbing. Sounds like pretty bad work to me.

Same. I charged $175 for that Audi A6 I did back in April and I probably should have charged more-that car had about 4.5 hours of just polishing into it.

FABULASTIC!!!

I would charge near 200 for that xterior (185) and my interiors run from 20-75. Again...drool worthy job!
