This is my fathers car he takes pretty good care of it,for just someone who really knows nothing about detailing, just washes and waxes it weekly. I recently bought a PC and i went over to clean it up abit for him.

This is what i did so far I am also new to detailing but have been reading here alot.



1: washed with dawn to remove all the wax he has been applying for years.

2: clay

3: EO Wipe and shine

4: Sonus SFX 2 orange pad speed 4

5: S100 wax x1



Thats all I had time for, I would have liked to have also used S100 cleanser but i forgot it at home.



I was thinking of getting some poorboys and clearkote products to make it really shine but not sure what to go with, I have been reading alot about SSR1, VM, RMG, PWC, EX-P, YCW

any suggestions?

I dont know if the pictures really show it but it is a much darker red now it was getting oxidized and looking orange
 
It's more about your technique and preparation than the products... always keep that in mind.



In other words, just practice for now... unless you really want to spend more of your money on products just to experiment. I just suggest that you get your technique down first.
 
BMW red always does turn slightly orange. As far as your question it really depends on the look you're looking for. SFX is a pretty mild SMR so going with another polish might be redundant. I would go over the car with a green pad and SFX2 to give more of a brighter polish, or you can use more of a glaze type of polish like VM or SFX3. Sealants usually just helps protect the paint longer and will not really give you more pop to the shine than your S100.
