Good luck everyone!

1) the satisfaction of bringing something back to life.
2) trying new products and seeing how they react to paint and how superior one product is to others

The satisfaction of making a vehicle look it's best. The look on a customer's face when they say "is that really MY car?" The money doesn't hurt either :)

the satisfaction of restoring something uncared for to its proper glory
I also find it some sort of ocd Zen treatment

A nice shiny clean car just looks so much better, of course protecting your vehicle is a good thing too.

I also do it mainly for the result
Second reason is seeing the owners reaction
Third reason is money.

Gosh there are probably 45 or more reasons!! Ha Ha Ha

It has been the one thing that keeps me grounded. After a long work week, nothing like hitting the driveway saturday morning and detailing the xterra. For me it's STRESS RELIEF.And what you pay today for a new vehicle, it's just stupid not to maintain the looks of it.

I did not feel at home at the new place, till i got a chance to wash/detail the xterra.

 For a win!

I'm my younger years I never took care of my cars. Then I got my Harley and I wouldn't even let a speck of dust stay on it. It was then I realized that a vehicle was an investment and an extension of who we are. When I ride, I'm free as a bird, my mind is clear and often times I can find answers to things that often weighed heavy on me.

Detailing allows me the same feelings, but with an added sense of accomplishment. There's just something to be said about getting into a rhythm, clearing your mind and finding inner peace and calm. When I'm done, I stand back and swell with pride. I detail for myself and my family, I don't look for accolades, just to be able to be satisfied with myself at the end of the day

i ve always like keep my cars clean but it got really serious about 2 years ago when i started to invest and get all the info and tricks from here on the forum and also youtube videos. its a great therapy for me and i also get my alone time and really get into it. my older cars look like new and people always wonder if i got a paint job. i always like to try new products and techniques to better my detailing skills and it shows.

thanks for the chance to get in on one of the prizes listed.

Detailing is a stress reliever for me. I love to explore new products and test them against my old favorites. The process of removing scratches and swirls and trying to get "that" perfect shine is frustrating and satisfying all at once. And getting a box from Autopia is the highlight of my week, especially when they throw in something unexpected for me to try. I am trying to get my son to enjoy the hobby of detailing so we can have something to talk about other than sports.

I love detailing because it is a form of meditation for me. No two details are alike which is a fun challenge as well! I detail for the love of detailing, getting paid to do it is a bonus!

I have several reasons why I enjoy detailing,
I look at as a form of Art, taking a vehicle and transforming it into something beautiful, every detailer has they"re own style and use they're Canvas differently, allot of detailers can detail, but can you create a Picasso ?
Another is, I have a bit of OCD,so detailing helps to ease that side of me .
Another reason a form of Identity, everyone wants to be recognized, respected and known as a Professional in their career.
Satisfaction that I get from my customers who praise my work and their facial and emotions expressed when picking up their vehicle, that is worth more than Money to me !!

I more recently over last 2 years have gone from keeping my cars clean and waxed to really detailing them. Polishing and paint correction, shampooing and extraction on interiors, full under hood cleaning and dressing. I think whats changed for me in last 2 years is knowledge and my need to do something that I can easily see the results of my work. I moved up to mostly managing for my brother and my company 3-4 years ago and while that's what is needed of me for the business I hate it. Everyday is just dealing with paper work and telling other people what to do at the end the day its hard to see what you have done. I find much more satisfaction in doing work I can see my results when I am done you finish the day and look at what you have done and can fell pride in your workmanship. So real detailing has brought that to my life I can do it at home or at work in my spare time and I get some of that workmanship pride. The other thing I can do from time to time at work to get that is sneak into the shop for an hour or so during the mid day lull and do some welding on our dumpsters, repairs and fabrication welding has that same reward when you bring something back from the scrap heap.

During the week I have to deal with meetings, personal and still complete all the tasks that I have prior to the completion date. So detailing for me is where I can just go out and not think about work and just think about what can be done to get my personal vehicles looking better than those at the office. I mean who does not like to hear that "you're car looks great and is so clean". Also it is the satisfaction for family and friends who bring me their vehicles for me to work on. Just seeing that smile on their face is worth it. People have a connection with their cars and it's enhanced when they see their pride and joy all cleaned up. It beings them back to that first memory of the car.

Detailing satisfies my OCD tendencies and I like having a clean car. With rinseless and waterless washing I can clean my car pretty much any time of day in about an hour. This might be too much info, but I also love that silky smooth feeling of freshly waxed paint.

Lotsa satisfaction in transforming a car into something beautiful , then to see the owner of the car almost in tears b/c they can not believe its the same car . Never gets old hearing " I don't have to find shade to hide the jacked up paint any more " ...... Money is nice too ....
