#9 vs scratchX

Hey all,

I read somewhere that #9 is the same as scratchX... is this true?

Can scratch X be used with a PC to remove swirls effectively and safely?

never used scratch x, but I do use #9. even if scratch x could be use won't it be costly compared to #9

ScratchX is way more expensive than any other products at around $8 for a small tube compared to $9 for 16oz bottle of SMR.

From a usage standpoint, ScratchX is a more abrasive product than SMR and is desinged for use by hand (it breaks down really quickly). I'd put it as slightly less abrasive than DACP, but more than SMR.

Hope the Scratch X works for you, when I used it by hand on a few cars, didn't give me very pleasing results, light, finger nail type scratches were still there :(

I've used Scratch-X w/ PC on limited areas (hood or trunk lid).

Seems to work ok. I'd mirror what the others have said about

cost. If you plan on covering the whole car there are other

more ecomomical options.
