#9 2.0 safe on plastics?

I'll be polishing my car tommorow with a PC & #9 2.0 and was wondering if its also safe to use on older plastic lenses to restore their shine?

Thanks

Safe? Yes. Effective? Not really. #9 has a lot of oil, which will give an artificial shine. You a true plastic polish (the Meg #10/#17 combo is pretty good) or a medium cut rubbing compound like 3M Perfect-It Rubing Compound. If you have a polishing wheel, use the white rouge.

I believe Ron Ketcham once said that Meguiars #10 plastic polish is just their Show Car Glaze repackaged. I'm not sure about the plastic cleaner or QD though.

I don't remember, but I think the packaging says not to use #9 on rubber/plastic. In any case, I got some on the exterior trim and it didn't do anything at all. Your best bet is to get something specifically for plastic.

Surprised nobody mentioned it, but Plexus is a great product for plastics.

3M also has a plastic polish that is supposed to work well.
