Jared, not sure where you live, but at my local CarQuest they sell the 3000 grid sandpaper you're looking for.
In regard to all the Megs numbers, I don't think there's much for a rhyme or reason to them. Look at the decoder ring to see what they all mean.
But like everyone here has said, buy some Menzerna and get the job done.
