'69 Corvette paint correction: Rasky's Auto Detailing

RaskyR1

Rasky's Auto Detailing
This car was painted about 15 years ago and it was definitely in need of a good polish after years of washing and dusting off. The owner is actually and old friend from high school who lived up the street from me when he was restoring it...I can still remember when he brought it back from the paint shop....always loved this year Vette and Candy Red is my all time favorite color...I was very excited to work on this car! :)

Process:

Wash - Megs Hyper Wash, 2BM, Lambs wool mit
Tires - OPC and Tuf-Shine brush (owner wanted no dressing)
Wheels - OPC and separate wash mit
Surface prep - Speedy prep towel, Glide for lube
Paint correction - FG400 on the Rupes 21 with Megs MF Finishing pads followed by HD Polish on the Rupes. Some areas required an extra pass with FG400.
Pant Protection - Blackfire Wet Diamond
Chrome - Mothers Chrome Polish
Glass - Megs D120

The metallic in the color made it hard to get good pictures...

Thanks for taking the time to view my work,

The old boy that introduced me to my wife had a Vette just like that, his was big block 454 too. Man, we had a few interesting rides in that beast, and lived to tell about it. Thanks for sharing that detail, sure brought back some good time memories. I'll have to forward this to my buddy, he'll break a leg kicking himself for selling that car!
