please help...:nixweiss



i'm planning on buyingn a new car for my fiancee in a couple months. she has never owned a car or was ever insured for auto insurance...we are getting married in a few months...can I save money by putting the car under my current insurance and putting her a secndary driver? I don't know if that's allowed...how can I do this without being killed with insurance payments. I currently own a 99 acura-tl and plan on buying my girl a 02 audi a4
 
That is true. And since you will have to list her DL# they will assume she is driving the other car. If she has a clean record it shouldn't hurt your wallet too bad.



Check your deduction amount, Coverage Amount, and mention any safety or theft device on the cars.

On my insurance company (www.esurance.com), I am the primary driver on all the cars. So, I guess every insurance company has different policies.
 
i work for an insurance company full time. Don't get rid of your policy. The longer you have your policy the better you are. Just call your insurance comapny and tell them you are getting married and need to add your wife on the policy along with the second car. You can tell the insurance co which car you use and which car she will be using. You can also tell them that they are both your cars and that she only uses it sometimes. But be upfront with the insurance company, it will keep you headache free in the event you have a claim.
 
'65 Cobra: Exterior correction (D300 MF)


This is another classic car that my mentor just picked up. He's running it at the auction this week and he called me up last minute to see if I could give the paint a little help. The catch being that the car was already at the auction sitting in lane one, cleanliness and speed were an important factor, and I had one evening to get it done. I normally don't detail during the week as I have a full time job too, but for a good friend I didn't mind making an exception...plus it was a cool car. ;)

Detailing off site, especially at a place were a bunch of car jockeys can come by and interrupt your work is not something I like doing. I also don't like packing up all my stuff and it seems like you always find a need something you didn't pack.

I left work a little early to pack up all my gear. I got started on the car around 4:30 and finished at about 10:30.

Process:

-ONR wash
-Light claying
-D300 via PCXP with 5" MF pads, tight areas with the 3"
-M205 via rotary with white LC pads
-Gtechniq P2 via PCXP with Cyan LC pads.
-Blackfire Wet-Diamond via PCXP blue LC pad


This paint was actually a nightmare to work on. The D300 left a very noticeable haze/marring but it was the only product I had that cut remove the defects without generating a lot of dust. I had to clear up the haze with M205 on a polishing pad, and then I followed up with P2 to ensure there were no holograms and to amp up the gloss. The paint was very scratch sensitive and new DI Great White towels were used on the finishing steps and wax removal.

Because of time pics are very limited, I was also exhausted and hungry so the last thing I wanted to do was take pics.

Wow!! That looks fantastic!

Question... your last step was with the Cyan LC pad? Isn't that pretty aggressive, moreso than the LC white pad you used with the 205?

I have not heard of Gtechniq P2.

How is it different that M205 ?

I'm still trying it out but it has less cut than M205.

I have no idea honestly. My friend bought the car and drove it right to the auction so it was likely already there. Appeared as though they tried to remove a bird poo or tree sap.

Never even noticed the BMW until you pointed it out. :D

It's funny because a few people have commented on the amount of time spent....I actually felt it took longer than planned! This is a VERY small car, and minus the RIDS here and there, it wasn't in that bad of shape. I had planned on being in and out in 4hrs, but that was only if D300/D301 worked well on this paint type. ;)
