'60 Impala, Full Wet Sand and Buff: Rasky's Auto Detailing

Chad, the car is so red, it looks like it's bleeding!

I've got to tip my hat to you. :yo:

I know how frustrating it can be to jump both feet into a sanding job, helping a guy out (for money of course, but obviously an amount much less that you should be charging). Heck, I'm doing one of those right now!

What I like is the way you handle yourself, the way you roll with it, even if the job is not going as planned. I really admire that.

Seeing things through.... making a car look as this one does now... it's a testament to your desire to do well, to your pride, and your fortitude.

Not only that, but under the gun, and you went ahead and polished the trim!

I'm pretty sure you'll be getting a sanding job or two after people see this thread.

Excellent work and write up Chad. Love the Got Dust shirt too. Do you have AC in your garage?

Thanks David! :)

I do have a small window unit in there but rarely need to turn it on. It was 103 and humid the last day that I worked on the car, and my garage stayed a cool 80-85 until late that night when I opened the door to wash the car. I finished the garage off myself and insulated her well. ;)

Damn fine work, the paint looks amazing! :bow

Too bad it was a 6 under the hood and not a 348.

Thanks Scott!

I actually drove the car back and forth between my shop and his over the 2 weeks while I juggled cars I already had scheduled.....it definitely needed a V8! :D

Fantastic job Chad. I'm always fascinated with how you are able to sand in such tightly curved and obscured areas and yet you are able to get a polisher in there and polish them to a mirror shine. Once again, stunning work Chad!

Thanks Luke! I did have to hand sand a few areas but I also utilized 8", 7", 5" and 3" wool pads. ;)

Thanks again Kevin! :rockon1:

It would have taken much longer without your help finding the right abrasive to use. I did try and find out if it was indeed shot with Imron, but unfortunately the owner had passed away and the car was left with a family member so no luck there.

Cheers,

Rasky

MAN QUIT YOUR DAY JOB! you're clearly very good at detailing-what is stopping you from doing it full time?

Thanks Jaison!

While I LOVE detailing, my full time career pays me pretty well and I get to sit at a desk all day and talk to you guys. I've thought about doing it a few times now but at the end of the day I have guaranteed income coming in every week, excellent benefits, and 5 weeks of vacation. Those are all thing you can't count on when detailing for a living. ;)

Thank you! Yep, Shak-o-pee! :)

I spent a large part of my life in Burnsville and would have graduated from HS there had my parents not moved in the middle of my junior year. :(

Been in MN all my life and have wanted to move away several times now, but friends and family are what keep me here.
