6 month old wheel wells from hell

A friend called me about detailing his 6 month old 04 GMC Sierra 2500 HD (with the 6.6l turbo). He already has over 37k on the clock :shocked Something gave out in the rear and splattered grease everywhere, so he definately wanted the wheel wells done. I did the rest of the truck too which wasn't bad, but the wheel wells for a 6 month old truck were kind of nasty. 3 hours for the wheel wells alone, Castrol 1:1, Stoner's Tarminator, with LOTS of elbow grease, followed up with #16.

Even went up inside the back fender of the truck bed :D

Wash, clay, SEPC, #16, the rest of the truck really was in great shape.

The whole truck:

Can't forget the obligatory reflection shot ;)

Oh my goodness, great job! Your friend must be extremely excited. I've never seen wheel wells look so good!

Thanks all :) After washing with a chenille mitt, I used some old terrys along with the Castrol and Tarminator :) I thought I would blast them first with a pressure washer (2300 PSI), didn't even touch it :scared So lots of elbow grease it was. There was so much tar in there (and actually on the truck) I think I used nearly half a can of Tarminator.

Wow. Awesome job. I thought the wheelwells had a flat black plastic liner in the before pics!

37k in 6 months? Jeez, he must drive that truck 10 hours a day!

Thanks again all :)

Porkanbeans: He uses it for his business, so yes, he drives it great distances. He just bought a 97 Maxima to run around it to try to keep some of the miles off.

TW85 HHI: Indeed it was! I could just barely get the middle of the roof with a 20" platform I use (and I am 5' 11"). Even with the rest of the truck in great shape (minus the tar everywhere), with help it took 9 hours.

OMG!!!

I thought you took a pic of your garage floor in the first pic.

Simply stunning!

:lol Thanks :) No, my garage (including the floor) stays as clean as my car ;)

Yikes! I couldn't even tell the wheel well was painted in the first pics! I thought it was just dirty plastic I was looking at! Awesome!
