50-Year-Old Chevy Pickup...

Luster

COMPULSIVELY ANAL
Last spring a guy called me and said that he had a '58 Chevy pickup that needed to be polished for a parade... ORIGINAL paint.

The one thing I DIDN'T want to do is go through that original paint.

So I was extremely careful.

Heavy oxidation, and scratches. No swirls.

I started with SSR 2.5 with PC and LC Orange 5.5 on the entire vehicle. Then finished with ZPC, followed by Z5P.

The oxidation came off pretty easily, but it went through 10 pads!!!

I don't think I'll need to tell you which pictures are before and which ones are after.....

Customer was very pleased.

Enjoy......;)

great job on the old chevy pick up, luster. You can really tell the before and after shots. I love seeing classic pick up trucks preserved still.

Nice job. I love the old trucks from the 40's and 50's, particularly the Ford F-100 (Chevys like this one are cool too). That is a nice example of a true survivor. Nice job bringing her up !!!

Great job Bill.
Amazing that it is in the shape it is after all these years. Was it garaged?

The owner told me the truck spent most of it's life in the barn. It was his Grandma's "drivin'-to-the-market" truck. Never used as a work or farm truck. All original, even the fabric on the seats was in good shape...:):D

Lets hear it for Grandma :rockon

I do like all the old American Classic's, especially pick up's, you've done a top job on it, it's a shame that the older cars over here don't look as nice...
