I was wondering what kind of alcohol is used when u guys say 50/50 alchol water mixture

Isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Some argument whether you really need to cut it down or just use it straight from the bottle (where it is already cut to some degree).

....btw, it is usually sold in various dillutions (i.e. 70%, 91%, etc.). I usually pick up whatever happens to be the highest they have (90+%).
