50/50 spray, dulls?

I was wondering as to when people spray the 50/50 (water, iso alcohol) solution of the surface after polishing to remove residues does it also remove shining agents or gloss? I know that polishes with fillers would dull from loss of silicons but will others that do not suffer?

The idea behind use the 50/50 mix is that you want correction so you are removing the fillers. This lets you know if indeed you did remove imperfections instead of just covering them up.

Ditto on the above. I havnt found that it removes any glossing agents (pretty sceintific term.. i know). It just to see if you are hiding or filling the swirls and defects. For example. Do an IPA swipe after using meguiars #80.. you might be suprised. But, like I said I havnt found any less of shine after IPA.

The 50/50 will remove everything on the top of the clear. But if you have got a nice shiny clear then no it won't dull it.

Absolutely! If you are using the 50/50 IPA/water mix on modern clears, and you observed dull appearing paint, that is the true condition of the paint revealed after the the mix removed the phony stuff. It would mean you would need a fine, non filling polish to bring back the true gloss.
