5" CCS pads, okay with a 3.5" BP

About to order some new 5" CCS pads from danase, and I currently have a 3.5" backing plate I use with 4" pads. Is it okay to use this with 5" pads or would a 5" BP be better? What would be the advantages and disadvantages to both?

It's fine to use the 3.5" plate and is what I usually use. with those pads.

Either one, i personally use the 5" backing plate but i have used it with both! these pads are awesome i have like 20 orange from AG

I have both BPs, I like the 5" the best, but the 3.75" works fine as well. If your worried about nicking something with the side of the BP go with the 3.75".



I believe that Danase is the only place with the 5" LC CCS. AG has slightly larger ones 5.5" roughly. Danase CCS 5" are better IMO.



Another good thing about the 3.75" BP is that you can switch from 5" to 4" and vice-versa.

I use the 5" as well, and they are great!
