#425... I hate when people say WOW!

h yes.........425 is simply amazing! It's "bling" in a bottle! Yesterday I used fx-100 & pink wax on my black truck for the first time. I QD'd with 425 before an after a layer of fx-100 & pink wax. The results are nothing short of awesome.

Are these products better than your Chemical Guys stuff?

Only time will tell me if #425,FX-100 & Pink Wax prove to be better than many of the products I use. But my 1st impressions are quite promising. I am willing to say that #425 is perhaps the finest QD I've used, however.

I too hate it when people say "Wow!" becaause it costs me money everytime. I'm supposed to be making a profit at this game, but new product testing is making it very difficult :) I've been holding off for as long as I can to order a few gallons of #415...but I think the time has come. You all are to blame. I think I actually work for free.

LOL! That is funny. :chuckle:

wow....but i have yet to see Pictures of the #425 repell dust compared to other good QD's. Can somene cut the WOW, Awesome, really does what it say's, & Prove it next to another QD ? :argue it's funny i have seen people rave about a sealant, wax & post pictures to show the results & how long it last , But this #425 is getting more hype then expected which is weird & unusual. What's more weird is that no can prove the Anti-Static compared to others. I think i will have to take matters into my own hand & do it. :(

Dude, what's your beef? You whined about this in other threads too. People who have used it vouch for it's dust repelling abilities. That's why they even use it on electronics and TV screens. Why can't you take the respected members word for it?

You make claims like it's a myth and it's a selling point, etc... yet people who use it report on it repelling dust. Then you say they're "gullable" despite having success with it. Do you even use the product? No? Then why do you make those comments?

It's your same attitude that Charlie's soap is the only way to clean MF's and anyone who uses MF detergents are throwing money away (even when someone claims they haven't had the same experience). All because you hand agitated 4 MF's in a bucket.

You said in another post "sorry for being an a-hole" regarding this topic. If you think that and have to type that, then maybe you shouldn't say it?

Maybe this will help?

From Moderator BillD:

I'm extremely enthusiastic about my newly acquired FK 425. A true gem in the world of detailing products. My car is spit-shined with Souveran and I see nothing detrimental about using 425 on it. I think the result of the two is fantastic. I still can't get over the true anti static properties of this product!

...I like the whole package: looks, slickness, light touch up ability, anti static.

From GSRStilez

It has a ton of uses and a unique anti-static (no dust) property. I use it on my laptop (same plastic screen) with success (weekly) ... Once you experience its Anti-Static properties, you will not turn back ... Say goodbye to any dust. It repels just about anything ... Increases wetness, depth, slickness, and best of all, it repels dust/dirt.

From tdekany

I second the FK anti static products.

From Bence

One easy test is a TV screen half done, half untouched. And you'll see.

From Machboy

Not to mention not having as much dust collect on the car is awesome as well. aaand it smells like cake..that rocks too.

From mgm121499

Try using #425 on your TV. You will notice a dramatic drop off in the amount of dust that collects on the screen. #425 will not PREVENT dust collecting on your paint, but it does help keep it under control.

From mg031

I too use #425 and also find the dust repellancy claims favorable when in comparison to other QD's (also use S&G, UGE, Mothers Showtime, Adams etc.)

From Sarcazmo

...so far that anti-static claim seems to be holding up.

From Winston Wolf

"FK1 #425 Ultra Slick Anti-Static.........." I cant remember the full name. But it is real slick. lasts long and anti-static to boot for what its worth

From Knockwurst

Though I like CG’s QD sprays, FK’s 425 takes the cake . . . anti-static, high gloss, slickness, streak-free, and protection.

From BlackSunshine

Finish Kare #425 (I highly recommend this one on black as it has great anti-static properties)

All those posts above are just the reasons i just put an order in for some FK products. Should get them by the end of the week. Im so excited, just like a kid in a candy store!!

Miami, once again, you forget that many "other good QDs" have some sort of anti-static additive.

With a blizzard outside and it's midnight, I have time! Plus a quick search pulled these up. Nothing major to do.

I have to agree with Seth. Miami... if you don't want to try it, that's your choice. I don't really think it's up to any of us to convince you otherwise, especially with such scientific tests as spraying half the hood with 425 and half with another. It's a great QD and, like many have already said, yes it does have a tendency to attract less dust. What's so hard to believe about that.

If you don't want to try it, that's certainly no sweat off my back, or anyone else's here. Maybe you should call this one in to the Mythbusters since you're so skeptical

Yes I bought it. Like it but its not the whole enchilada :nixweiss

It is…but if you want to keep thinking those MF detergents are special… Buddy you got more to see. I did this test 3 times & won’t bother posting more pictures, because apparently guys like you don’t appreciate it. BTW: the hand wash wasn’t the only test I did. There was more to it. I guess you’ll keep buying anything company’s make that clam things. :nixweiss

No ….maybe you should ignore it, & not tell people what to do or what to write. . :chill:

Can anyone compare in final visual appearance clues of #425 with established products like:

Pinnacle Crystal Mist

Sonus Acrylic Spritz

Zaino Z8

Optimum Spray Wax

UPP / 4* QD

Meguiar's Final Detail (old timers :) )

Please no comments on anti-static properties. Until someone can produce an anti-pollen agent the anti-static for dust is just a "marketing" ge(r)m IMHO.

How about shipping time to lower 48. I have had bad experiences (long shipping times) with products shipped from Canada.

TIA

????? My FK1 order shipped from PHOENIX AZ.

My order also came from AZ but I thought the shipping was slow. 10 days to get to NC, although I ordered on a holiday weekend.

I hope that's the case. Patrick at ExcelDetail normally only takes 3-4 days from California. I hope that's the case from AZ. I just got some parts from AZ and it only took 3 days :bolt.

I assumed Candian origin because of the Canadian tax question during billing. :nixweiss

10 days during the Holiday season in somewhat understandable.

USPS or UPS?

Have been using FKl on my laptop screen. Cleans the screen very nicley. It also works on the daughter Ford Focus. I do not see the claims of the others as far as antistatic claims. The laptop still gets dusty and the daughter's Focus had dust on it everyday. the same as the Black truck sitting right beside it.

I understand about claims made by members. That is there experience. I am glad. It has not been my experience, unfortunately. MY truck has been a test bed of products this winter. The only thing that I noticed about dust accumulation is that the LSP that I used made the difference rather than the Detail Spray that I used.

blkZ28Conv,

I must be one of the "old timers", as I find the 425 to remind me a lot of Final Detail in appearance. As a matter of fact, I like to call it "Final Detail on steroids". :D

As for the "anti-static" claim... it's difficult for me to tell during the winter months. I do find that the vehicles seem to wash easier. That may have as much to do with the extreme slickness of the product, as it does with any anit-static properties. Whatever the case, this is extremely nice stuff! :2thumbs:

My gallon of 425 arrived in about 5 days via FedEx. That's about normal for delivers to my area.
