4*UPP vs. EX-P

I am trying to decide which product to order. I will be working on vehicles with Silver Metallic and another with Black Paint. These will be used with Pinnacle Signature.



What would everyone recommend, and why?

I think that UPP looks awesome on silver. It really brings out the metal flake on metallics I have used it on.



I recently used EX-P and Pinnacle Sig on my black 350Z. I was very impressed with the results. Nothing looks better than Pinnacle on black.
 
I've used them both on a carbon gray pearl acura with AIO underneath. I'm gonna give the nod to UPP. Both look good but I think UPP is a bit clearer so that the metallic flake stands out more and, IMO, UPP is quite a bit slicker.

Two very nice products with similar durability. I really think one would have to see them both to decide, as some people would prefer one, while others would prefer the other one on the same vehicle.................... really a matter of preference.
 
I used EX-P for a while and whilst the ease of use and looks are great, it loses it's slickness real quick - after a month the slickness had all but gone and in that time I'd only washed the car 2 or 3 times.



I've recently started using UPP on top of Klasse AIO which gives outstanding results - it gives a wetter carnauba look than EX-P IMO. Slickness is unreal! Ease of use, even easier than EX-P and that's saying something!



I'm gonna be trying Zaino Z2 soon just to see if there's any improvement - if it's nothing significant, I'll certainly be returning to UPP.

I like UPP much more than EX-P. UPP is much more durable IMO. I like the look on my silver with AIO as a base. Also UPP is the slickest LSP out there. Once you feel it on the car you will be tempted not to top it. Anything you top it with will not be as slick as UPP.
 
I like the look of both on metallic paint and really think you'd be happy with the results of either on metallic. I've only seen them on black in pics...they all looked good, but pics are not the same thing as seeing it in person.



TW85 found that topping UPP with Signature took most of the slickness away...interestingly he did not notice a diminished slickness with the now discontinued Paste Glaz (Signature replaced it). I have topped EX-P with Signature with outstanding results on my silver Solara.



As of yesterday, Pinnaclewax.com was offering a great deal on a Paste Glaz kit for $50 plus shipping (and the detailcity coupon code scores 15% off that).
 
I'm gonna hafta say UPC with UPP is amazing! I had 3 coats and it lasted easily 4 months strong. EX-P has been so so in terms of durability, but I think its a VERY true sealant, meaning what you prep underneath is key. I want to use up all my EX-P then just buy the developing EXP+.
 
The batch of EX-P+ I got was a noticeable improvment on EX-P in terms of slickness, gloss, depth & reflectivity...I topped VM + EX-P x2 with it.



Durability isn't my biggest concern being in Atlanta...we don't stay cold very long.

UPP from what I understand has a nice glow much like a carnuaba. EX-P gives more of a clear wet look. I've never used UPP but EX-P has been pretty good. Durability hasn't been incredible, but for me I don't mind applying it every 3 months. I do believe from what I read that UPP is more durable and slicker. I think either way it comes down to what you'd prefer a clear wet look vs a carnuaba glow. It's a win, win situation if you ask me!

I had the same results. #16 diminished the slickness and Paste Glaz did not.



I prefer UPP rather than EX-P. I used them both under Paste Glaz, and I thought they both looked great, but the slickness and ease of use with UPP really makes me stick with it.
