4* UPP that good?

I've read a bunch of good reviews about 4* UPP. Everybody raves about the "slickness". Is this product as good as its cracked up to be? Does this phenomenal slickeness add more protection than EX, Glanz, or even Klasse offer? There's so much praise for the UPP slickness I almost think I'm missing out by not using it... :) With my new black paint, any special protection like what UPP sounds like it gives is right up my alley. I've just got some PB's and Klasse to make my way through before I can get to the UPP!

Yeah, I'd say for my buck it's the best compromise between look and protection.

It lasts longer than EX and Glanze, but not Klasse. Some say Klasse produces a "wrapped in saran wrap" shine whereas UPP is more deep and wet, like a carnauba wax.

I'd do AIO/UPP x 3 and prepare to be amazed.

GSRstilez,

I have recently purchased some UPP and tried it on my wife's titanium silver X5. I noticed that it has the appearance of a sealant topped with a high grade carnauba.

I am using EX-P on my titanium silver 740i sport and it seems to have a clearer, wet look almost like #16.

On well prepped titanium silver paint, do you prefer UPP or EX-P?

Thanks for your input! :xyxthumbs

Cheers,

Shoot, good question :)

I haven't really had a ton of experience with UPP, but I have with EX-P. To date, VM/EX-P is my favorite combo on silver.

I got a sample of UPP from Jngrbrdman and have used it on green and blue metallics. The look is amazing!

I don't know many silver vehicle owners, otherwise I'd give it a shot.

Thanks for the input Sean... sounds like UPP needs to be next for me to try. I'd do it sooner but I just can't pass up putting some Souveran over the EX - I have the PS but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Its calling me just slightly more than the UPP :) Although its still a tug of war in my mind between AIO + EX + PS and AIO + UPP...

Yeah, it really is that good. It comes closer to looking like a sealant topped with a carnauba than any other sealant I have tried (although still not quite there).

But the slickness and wet look it gives is excellent. AIO is a perfect foundation for it.

UPP is a very wet looking sealant. Not quite as deep IMO as Wolfgang but wetter looking and even slicker.

This is Klasse AIO topped with UPP on an LX470, just to give you an idea of how it looks on black.

Scott,

You are not fooling me! You poured jet black ink over the hood of that LX470!

Now you are making me want another black car again! It is amazing how good paint can look if it is prepped correctly!

Keep up the Awsome work Scott! :bow :bow :bow

Cheers,

Andrew-after having a black car since this summer, it will probably be my last. I love how the car looks for the first 5 minutes after I clean it and after that, I hate all the crap that seems to end up on it. Black just never seems to stay clean for long enough. I'm going with silver next.

<-----my black hood! ;)

My customers can have all the black vehicles they want. I just don't have the time required to really enjoy having a black car. :(

Boy, when a professional detailer can't even stand to have a Black vehicle, that's sayin' something!

It really isn't that I can't stand it, I just don't have time to keep it up the way I want. Plus, my paint seems a bit on the soft side so it mars easily. Some kid ran their hand down the side during all the rain we had and left some minor streaking in the paint.

I know what you mean Scott. I have owned 3 Black cars, and don't plan on owning any more. They do look incredible when clean, but literally within less than an hour, you can see every spec of dust that has landed on it. And that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Back to the subject here...

UPP is probably my favorite product that I have now. The slickness is incredible, and the shine is great too.

Since the pics are coming out, here's my car with AIO + UPP + #16

The #16 didn't see to add much of anything other than extra protection for winter. It took away some of the slickness too.

I guess I should have posted a few pics in my first post regarding some results with SSR2.5, AIO, and UPP (my father in laws pickup truck):

Nice and wet!

I have similar great results with my Yellow Protege5 and Pewter Trailblazer (I will get pictures of those vehicles one of these days).

So the slickness of UPP helps keep debris, i.e. dust, off the car better than other sealents and carnaubas? If so, that sounds like it would benefit a black car. Opposite of maybe the PS I want to put over my EX - it would certainly get dust on it more than UPP.

So would AIO + UPP > AIO + EX + PS? Both in terms of protection (from marring) and looks?

I don't know about looking better than AIO, EX and PS, but UPP will give that combo a run for its money, and will not attract dust. I am truly impressed with how little dust seems to attach to a UPP protected vehicle.

You can't go wrong with either UPP or EX on dark color vehicles. But I would have to give a edge to UPP for slickness. However, both are just as easy to use.

With Aloha,

Ranney :)

I absolutly love UPP. Its very very very very slick and really brings out the metallic in the paint.

Here is a few pics of my truck when it was freshly done this sping. This is AIO/UPPx3

Yeah it's good stuff, I love it with AIO. It's one of only 3 combos I swear by. T. Perinne, do you have the PS yet? Do you have a PC? If so, I'll send you a sample of the other one...
