I just recieved my 4" Propel Pads for my cyclo yesterday. Today I used them on a detail and 4 of them are already ruined, after just 5 minutes of use foam on the finishing pad started flying out and its all messed up. On the yellow cutting the backing of the velcro is coming off already!! I didnt put any pressure on the pads and when I took them off I made sure not to pull on the pad but to seperate the veclro. Has anyone else experienced this?? :( I feel like I just wasted $12

I have 4 sets of the green lite cut pads and have used each on multiple cars with no problems. Not sure why you have having problems, must be a defective batch.

The ones Im talking about are actually the Blue and Yellow ones. Sorry maybe I used the wrong terms earlier describing them. Thanks for the help guys...I'll let you know, I'll try to get some pictures up after work today so you can see for yourself what happened with these pads, it wasn't like just the velcro was falling off - it was like the foam was just breaking apart while the cyclo was on. I'll put some pics up for sure around 4 when I get home.

Joshua,

What type of bp r you using?

Was the pads centered?

did you rotate the arms on the cyclo with p[ad on to verify if they will touch....

it sounds like your pads are touching which means there not centered..but again im not sure if this is what going on in your situation maybe until we see some pics others can chime in....

I'm using the backing plates that came with the cyclo?? And then to connect the pads Im using the cyclo rubber pad holder to hold them in place. Was I suppose to get a different backing plate for the cyclo? :( And I thought my pads were centered because I did rotate the arms because I was curious to see if the pads do touch eachother when in motion.

If I need a different backing plate could you tell me which one would be a good choice for the cyclo, thank you!

EDIT: Can someone point me in the direction of some different pads that are good with the cyclo? I seen Lake Country makes 3.5 inch Variable Contact Pads, is this pad too small? Top Of The Line sells some 4" pads but it's confusing as to whether they are Lake Country or Cyclo brand.

I had a yellow one tear up on me in about half a car when using it with my PC. I just threw it away, figured it was normal for the smaller ones to tear up faster. It gave me amazing results though, so I didn't think too much of it.

I suppose they should last longer then? How much longer are they lasting for the rest of you?

I used both the orange and green 4" Propel pads on my car with the backing plate from exceldetail and didn't have any problems. This was with a PC and not a cyclo however.

Before looking for another manufacturer, I'd contact Patrick and try to figure out what went wrong. As others said, the pads could have been defective, or it could have been something else.
