4" pads a must have?

distrbd

all in the details
I have the LC 6.5 ccs pads and was thinking of getting the smaller 4" pads.I know they are used for spot buffing where more heat is needed and/or for hard to get areas.
Do you think 4" pads are a great addition to anyone's pad collection? If you have them ,how often do you use them?
Would I be better off getting the 5.5" since I already have the 5"backing plate?
I know soon I will have them all:rofl but 4" is constantly on my mind.:hmmm::D

I keep a few for spot correction like you are thinking of doing. Because they are only for spot corrections or small spaces they don't get much wear.

I have them in my arsenal and use them for correction of paint. I have found as I get better with wash and QD techniques I use them less and less. Never the less they are a useful tool for paint correction especially with a PC.

I thnk you'll be able to use them more than you think. They are great for spot buffing, can be used in tight areas and a lot of other ways as well. I've only used Edge 4" pads, so I can't vouch on the LC pads, only on the size.

After a few years of detailing I finally have 10 4" pads in my collection. I have two 3 3/4" BPs as well, one for the PC and another for the rotary. I have only used them once with my rotary for spot repairs. I'm interested to see the result using the PC or UDM, I may get the chance to try them out on Friday. I have a lot more experience with a PC than rotary so I can't say for sure if they helped the cause or not.

Thanks for your comments,it looks like they are handy pads to have around but not used as your main pads for regular detailing.
I have noticed when people talk about their favourite pads the 4" ones are hardly mentioned.:hmmm:

It's funny this thread was started I was talkin to a friend about the CCS 4" pads. I put a few on my wish list for Christmas. I'm sure they will come in handy at some point.

4" pads a must have?
A must have? I sure hope not since I don't have any. :)
Nice to have? Without a doubt.
I don't know about anyone else, but it really isn't financially practical for me to have everything that would be "nice to have".
I'm working on it, though. :D

Don't forget to put the smaller backing plate on the list.
