I'm sure someone has touched on this product, but I have not seen it. Looking for some feed back. I just purchased some on a wim. I was at the paint supply store and noticed it. Have not tried it yet so I can't respond myself, YET. I hope I did not waste my money as it was not inexpensive, $33. smackers. I look forward to some responses. THANKS

its a great finishing polish...on par with the finish of 106ff...obviously not as aggressive...but when you two step polish this is a great finisher...

I have been using it lately and it does work amazing. It has very little cut to it and should be used after a swirl remover polish, like 3m swirl remover polish or sip. It works great even on the finicky soft paints. The oil left behind cleans up very easy.

Ryan, what machine and type of pad are you using?

I use a rotary. The ultrafina was designed for the rotary. Watch the video on 3m! Just google ultrafina video.

My proven system I have been using for a long time now is:

3M Extra cut compound (orange pad)

SIP (orange or soft green pad)

Ultrafina or 106 or sometimes both on a show car (blue pad) Ultrafina has their own blue pad that I heard is amazing.

All my work is always done with rotary.

Any problems with wax or sealant bonding to the residue left behind by Ultrafina?

It does need to be washed to remove all the oils and the oil spatter. It does come off very easily. An IPA wipedown would easily remove them also or even a good QD. It's a very light thin oil, almost like wd-40 lookswise.

The 2006 training video showed a wash to remove the oils, but I wasn't sure if that was necessary.

Makes sense: thanks for the explanation

I use Ultrafina SE on all the black BMW's (and also use the 3M blue waffle pad). After using, I wipe the oil splatter, power wash the vehicle to remove excess product from body seams, and apply Meg's #26. The Bimmers always seem to have more depth of color with this product.

I too like the UF allot. As Rydawg said it works great on the softer clears.

Toto, what size BP are you using with that 8" 3M blue UF pad?

Depends on which rotary I grab. The DeWalt has a standard backing plate and my Dynabrade has the Meguiar's So1o cushioned backing plate that is 6.5" (I think).
