3M SMR for Dark Colors or Megs #9?

Does these have fillers? Because I will be using AIO and SG afterwards. I'm going to Pep tomorrow and plan on getting one of them. I would like Menzerna FP but it's mailorder only and shipping is expensive. I assume the polishing abilities are probably equal. Any real advantage from one to the other?

Thanks!

As far as I know 3M SMR does have fillers. You might want to rewash before using the SG. The AIO should take care of any bonding issues before applying SG.

I am not sure how bad your swirls are but Megs #9 is not that abrasive. Depending on the severity you might want to try something like Megs Dual Action Cleaner Polish (DACP).

I used both on my Red Truck.

Yellow Pad - 3M SMR

White Pad - Megs #9

White Pad - AIO

Hand Foam Pad - SG

Hand Foam Pad - S100

Lost Pup, at what speed do you apply the SMR and Megs?

It is so hard to get products here in Columbus and it's the biggest city on Ohio, basically 99% of my detailing supplies are brought online. There use to be a Sherwin Williams Automotive Paints store with tons of polishes and waxes, but it closed. The swirls are not too bad, mainly from ahem...drive-thru car washes.

Both 3M and #9 have fillers that "hide" the swirl marks. They have of cutting action but very mild. The thing to remember with these is to seal the fillers under something like Klasse HG for other wax. DON'T use AIO because the cleaning action will remove the fillers and cause the swirls to show. Klasse is a great product but will not hide swirls as well as a true filler type of swirl mark remover.

Cheers.
