one of things i did along with all the other stuff was remving scratches. i did exactly what david b showed us in that other thread about removing scratches. it basically consists of filling in the scratch with touch up paint. wet sand followed my 3M rubbing compound and SMR.
well i did a really good job in removing my scratches, many (not all) practically disappeared! not bad for a first timer right? great thanks to david B too!
after i wet sanded the area with 2000 grit wet sand paper it left a pretty bad looking hazy surface. it was pretty deep too. but after just 1 simple coats of the 3M rubbing c., it completely disappeared! i dont know what other product would do such a good job. the SMR itself would have helped reduce its look but it would not have done what the rubbing compound did. this followed by SMR and PPCL made the paint look newer than ever. oh yea, one more thing, the bottle says it will only safely remove up to 1200 grit or 1500 grit sandings. well i used 2000 and 1000 sand paper on differnt areas and both were removed flawlessly.
i would highly recommend this rubbing compound if anyone is planning to try wet sanding. by the way, wetsanding is very easy!!! go try it out! the hardest part of the whole thing is to have a good paint application for the touchup. very important to do many thin layers and let it dry over night to be sure its totally solid and ready for sanding. if u rush its very easy to sand the whole chunk of touch up off, having to make u stop and reapply the paint and having to wait for it to dry again while ur paint is exposed from that previous sanding.
so thats another little review for ya!
