The wax was OK but it seemed like a dust magnetic to me that's why I stopped using it.

But it will attract dust before the next wash, won't it?
What about its durability?

Usually dust magnets stop attracting dust when you run a slow stream of water over the car after curing.

I did a QD (antistatic) wipedown 1 h after 845 IW removal to reduce this dust magnet in the car I detailed past week. I suppose this will reduce this effect.
Maybe, 1 spritz of a antistatic QD in the finishing PAD where you put the liquid wax to apply it will reduce the effect, I don't know...

Mario, did you compare the FF and FA today on the Porsche?

I'll start the detail in 1-2 hours. I still didn't see the car... I'm waiting for the call from the owner. I'll start with the interior. It has leather, if it need it, I'll use Leatherique, very impressive product.
Regards Marcus.

Well, the Porsche is 10 years old, a grey Carrera S, amazing car.
I compared PO106FF and 80343. Their finish are very similar, but I think the better one is from PO106FF. But this colour isn't the best to check wich polish finishes with better gloss. And the next car I'm going to detail is also grey...
I'm using 50077 as a compound. I really like this polish. The abrassives break down very fast and the results are swirl-free, nice gloss and, with an appropriated PAD, hologram-free (maybe in a black car I'll tell something diferent). I tried 2-3 IPA wipedown after removing swirls with it and they weren't there, so maybe in the test performed by my a friend of my friend Bence, it wasn't used properly (too much polish, not enough speed... I don't know).
When I wake up tomorrow I'll continue and maybe I'll check PO106FF vs PO106FA.
Regards ;)

Thanks for the update, a friend of mine love the 80439 and uses it all the time. But he doesn´t have the 106FF only RE5.

Must get the 50077, only heard good things about it.

I finished now the 911 Carrera S. I couldn't take pics of the after... what a pity...
My conclusions: 3M 09374 works better than 50077. The second has more working time and the finish is better I think, but you can buff a car in less time with 09374 Fast Cut with a medium PAD.
The finish with 50383 is moreless the same achieved with 106FF, maybe even clearer, I really like this polish, it's a must try !!
The finish:

I worked all polishes @ 1600-1800 rpm.
I'll give a second oportunity to 80349.
Regards !!

So the old fast cut is more effective then the 50077? I like when I have a longer working time. Powergloss with working time of the PO106FF would be a nice combination :)

Damn now I have to buy the 50383 ;)

Still waiting for my Mirka polishes and Sia abbrasive polish system, siashine and their sanding discs. Wich looks very promising.

btw, nice job on that Porsche! What did you seal with?

Thanks Marcus, I liked the finish achieved.
I think then that you should buy both 50077 and 50383. With 09374 and a medium PAD like Green Propel Advanced you will finish the work in less time, but it isn't as user friendly as 50077.
I finished the car with Werkstatt Prime Carnauba and Collinite 845 IW, very nice combo in grey cars, the owner was very impressed !!
I'll tell you something about the Presta, I'll use them next week in a grey Audi A8.
Regards !!

I hate all these 3M numbers, for once I have no clue what these products are! Menzerna user...

I'm also a Menzerna user: PG, IP RD3.01 and PO91L, FF PO85RE5, PO106FF. But I'm trying more polishes.
I hate the 3M numbers and the fact that the numbers in Europe are diferent that the numbers in America.

Mario, so the 50077 is much more user friendly then fast cut 74, in what ways?

Waiting for my propel II pads, will get the yellow, green and blue. Wich ones do you have?

Will test the 50077 on a detailing seminar in a couple of weeks.

I second what you think about different numbers in the US and Europe. Stupid.

Hi again Marcus :)
I think that 50077 is more user friendly because of its superior working time. 09374 is "Fast Cut", the abrassives break down very fast, you achieve the results very fast, not more than 2-3 passes are necessary. With 50077, you could work more the polish. For example, I spent 1.5 h to buff the left side of the 911 using 50077+50383, and I spent 1 h to buff the left side using 09374+50383. This is amazing because you get less tired detailing, you achieve the results before, etc... But I know that this is a personal opinion and other people will prefer more workable polishes.
I have this 3 Propel 2 PADs. Maybe I'll buy the orange one also, I don't know if it is more hard than the yellow... I'll check this with jgv. The yellow cuts a lot and used via rotary at high speeds could be dangerous in corners... So I think I'll buy the orange. The green is the best PAD I have and I have Propel 1, Propel 2, Meguiars, LC CCS, LC (other model), Menzerna. The blue is very soft, I use it to apply liquid waxes or cleaners like PwS, Prime Carnauba...
What I don't like about 80349 is that if the splatter dries its very difficult to remove and I think it stains trim. I mixed PO106FF and 80349 and I buffed a Cayman S with this combo with amazing results, but I'll give a try to this 80349 alone.
Regards Marcus !!

I've given up on 3M, considering how 106FF is so versatile and there are other friendlier products to use. Presta is good from what I hear also.

Did some reading about 3M and found out that:

50077 and 50383 is the same as the new 3M compound and Ultrafina.

50077 have less cut then 74 fast cut. Fast cut have a cutting of 100 and 50077 have the cut of 85.

80439 have a cut between 70 to 12. IE better then cut then 09375 fine cut and gives a shine 3M 09376 machinepolish.

Have all the info on pdfs written in German and Danish.

Mario: I am going to order some of the LC CSS pads to my top tool, was think of buying yellow, orange and green.

The Propel II pads is going to be yellow, green and blue.

We got the new wet sanding discs and polishing system from SIA abbrasives
today. Looks very good.

Hi mates !!
I polished via rotary + Meguiars Polishing PAD + 80349 a Seat León in 2 h and it recovered the whole shine. This polish breaks down fast and give a nice shine. I think that it cuts more than 50383, something like PO106FF...
I found that, 09374 cuts more than 50077. But sometimes you don't need this extra cut. For example, you can remove medium swirls in a medium hard clearcoat very fast with 50077. If you use 09374 in this clear coat, you will remove too much clear coat.
I'll receive on wednesday Presta polishes and lots of news, and on Thursday I'll start a grey Audi A8 10 years old, I'll use Presta polishes for sure ;)
I prefer Propel II to CCS... but CCS are nice PADs. Also, I used the ones from Meguiars and I really liked them, better with a washing.
Regards !!

Hello !!
Today I'm polishing a grey Audi A8 10 years old. Definately, the clarity achieved via PO106FF is better, perfect.
I'll upload some pics about the results. I'm topping it with PwS + Zaino Z2 (non Pro version).
Regards.
