3M products?

Hey what do you guys think of 3M products? I understand that they've changed the sticker on the front but it is the same product. Right now they sell it at a local Zellers and thats the only place I've seen that carries it.

they have the swirl remover and I'm wondering if i should get this over meguiars (beige bottle) fine cut, medium cut and diamond cut polishes.

is 3M overall a good product?

btw, i tried to search but no results were found, thanks!

The 3M professional lines are great. The Perfect IT and Imperial line products work great. The majority of them are meant for use with a rotary and therefore require a greater working time with a PC, but still yield fabulous results.

Generally, these products are only available from body shop suppliers/paint stores. You should find several stocking stores in your area probably.

I love Swirl mark remover for dark cars. It does have fillers in it but I only use it after polishing... i think it gives a more mirror-like glaze. I would get it over the megs if i were you. i have the megs swirl mark remover (both professional and consumer versions) and don't use them at all, DACP is all I need.

okay thanks guys. I'm gonna pick the swirl remover up tomorrow and I'm also getting my PC tomorrow too so I can try it out.

any other input about the 3M products would be great!

See if you can still find the discontinued (but still available) PI-III RC 05933 and PI-III MG 05937. I use these on about 95% of the cars I detail. Work great by hand/PC/rotary.

Hey guys, this is the one I got... You probably can't see from the picture but they put a new sticker over top of the old one

I can see a little bit of it and it says

Perfect-It II i think

is this good?

hoanger- Sorry, not familiar with that one. 3M makes *so* many different products with similar-sounding names that it's hard to keep 'em all straight.

alright, thanks though.

I tried it out with my PC yesterday and with a little work and determination it happened to work brilliantly!

lots of my swirls are gone, but there is still a decent bunch... I guess I was just scared of staying on the panel to long and I probably didnt even work it in for more than 30 seconds...

I will try again next time

also... is there such thing as "using the PC too much" or "waxing too much" or "polishing (using this 3M product or a polisher too much"?

1) Yeah, but probably not with mild products like that one; polishing removes a little clear

2) No

3) See #1

Now I think I can go off and make my car shiny
