3M Product suggestions please

I have a local option to buy most of the 3M product range, I would appreciate your opinions as to which 3M products are a must have. Many thanks.

My go-to polishes are the PI-III RC (05933) and the PI-III MG (05937). I can do at least 95% (how's that for pulling a number out of thin air ;) ) of my paint correction with these two products. No fillers, very user-friendly by hand/PC/Cyclo/rotary. They've recently been discontinued and replaced by the PI-3000 line, but are still commonly available.

big fan of 3m's fine cut rubbing compound followed by their SMR.

the perfect it car wax is no roarin'ell though.

i still want to try out the machine glaze.

although I dont know if any of the 3m's are a "must have"!!!!

Clay - 3M is still my favourite clay

Well thats a good start, coz I bought a bar of that today, well expensive though! It seems really quite soft and pliable, look forward to using that. By the way Lowe, is there anywhere UK or europe that we can buy Menzerna FP II from, or any of the Menzerna range that you know ?

I thinks I saw both of those products today, so might go with that suggestion accumulator, thanks.

The machine glaze was available, so might give that a go.

Amen to that....these are GREAT products! Remember the perfect shine is 90% process and 10% product;)

Ye I had noticed, but the distributors page comes up blank in 'English' (have to choose German, and as you say no English distributor)... I emailed them earlier today, so will be interesting if they come back to me at all, will let you know.

Don't 3M do a good masking tape too ?

Yeah, their blue and (*especially*) their green stuff is the best I've ever used.

3M electrical tape is great stuff also. I greatly prefer it over "duct tape" for emergencies. Sticks better in the rain (and on well-waxed surfaces :o ).

Also a big fan of 3M polishes and compounds. The 3M PI-III MG as Accumulator suggested is really a must have. If that's still available side-by-side with the new 3M PI-3000 SMR, I suggest you pick the former.

However, I've tested the PI-3000 SMR and it seemed to stay wet longer even when used via rotary, compared to the PI-III MG. So that means, it has a longer working time and seemed more aggressive than MG 05937.

Were do you guys get your 3m stuff online? I've hunted a little but not much luck.

I found finding 3M online daunting as well. However I just ordered a quart of Imperial Hand Glaze (#5990) from this place. They have a good selection of products, the prices are good, no minimum order requirements, no handling fees and the shipping was very reasonable and shipped out the next day.

IMO Best rubber tyre cleaner out there!

HERE it is!

Lots of 3M stuff under in the 'Detail Supplies' section. The more I go through this website the more I like it. They have a bunch of products besides 3M as well. :xyxthumbs

One thing that you need to be very careful on Axe is that the UK and US 3M product specs can be different, even where they have the same/ similar names.

3M products in USA have different product number codes to the ones sold in AUS

Not a supporter of 3M anymore but do have a few and recommend these

PIII RC, P III MG

Perfect it 3000 paint care range

clay bars (slightly inferior copy of clay magic)

Finesse It range

Waffle machine buffing pads

Imperial hand glaze and perfect it liquid wax and many other products have too much solvents and voc's

VM, sonus sfx 3 and Farecla black top are superior glazes IMO

The gloss enhancer is crap IMO. Only isopropyl alcohol which will strip sealants
