3M Perfect It 3000?

I looked up the .pdf flyer from the website... very interesting.

Says that the new PI-3000 Rubbing Compound is the replacement for PI-III RC and that PI-3000 Swirl Mark Remover replaces PI-III MG...

If they *are* just the "new versions" they oughta work OK. But the guy I mentioned in the other thread did a pretty poor job using the TriZact stuff from that line. It seemed to work better when he used it with a regular foam pad instead of the special 3M one, but he was pleasantly surprised at how much better things got after I convinced him to use the old 05937 MG.

I wonder if the Series 3K SMR is filler-free like the MG

Don't quote me on this, but it seems that whenever new products are created to comply with new federal and state guidelines regarding hazardous materials (in this case, volatile organic compounds or VOCs) the efficacy of that product is reduced or minimized.

Think about our clear coats which are now water based and are much more prone to chipping than car paint used to be!

Better buy up all those 3M Perfect-It II Rubbing Compound bottles that you can find in the states affected since they have to comply starting Jan 1 2005.

Disclaimer: Just a general observation. I haven't actually used Perfect -It 3000 and for all I know it might be fantastic!
