3M/Megs equivalent of SEC/GEPC?

Hello,

Already kind of asked some of this question in another thread, but due to the thread loss etc, thought I'd repost it in a slightly different form. Hope nobody objects!

I'd like to know if 3M or Meguiars make an equivalent type of product to the s100/p21s sec/gepc.

Anyone have any ideas/names.

Thanks,

Face

Im thinking the closest would be Meguiars Hand Polish or Show Car Glaze. Is location the only reason you dont want the P21S/S100?

Like I (tried :() posting earlier, I don't think there is a direct Meguiar's equivalent. Maybe #9, but it might be a bit coarser. Their glazes are non-abrasive, while SEC/GEPC have been demonstrated to be very mildly abrasive and leave the finish slick.

No, I believe that Mcguires & 3M do not make products that come close to s100/p21s wax or cleansing lotion.

Megs & 3m are known to make good compounds and decent polishes that most body shop professionals use.

S100/p21s products are used by show car enthusiast. It's a totally different class of polishes/waxes.

I have used the #7 & #9 on diff. parts of my car , then used the GEPC on another part along Klasse AIO on another part. Boy their was no comparison. The s100-GEPC and the AIO I was not able to tell the diff in shine or feel. But the #9 & #7 did not even come close to the shine and glossyness of the AIO & GEPC.

Mild Seven- I get great results using this combo- IHG, S100 GEPC, S100 Wax (lighter, shiny cars) or Blitz Wax (dark color cars). I also compared using the GEPC alone or IHG first then GEPC. Applying IHG first adds a luster and glossier final shine. I could definitely see the difference.

Mild Seven- No IHG is not hard to remove. It is a bit harder to apply than some polishes, but I do it by hand and I'm certainly not a "muscle" guy at all. Just have to rub it in well and its not that hard to do.

My only question is I've read that IHG has very few abrasives and mostly has fillers. So I wonder if I may need more "oomph" than IHG for the base polish. I've heard good reviews about 3M Perfect-it lll Finishing Glaze (or w/ buffer 3M Pi-lll 'Machine Glaze'). It seems to be about 4 on the abrasiveness scale from what I've read and also leaves a nice glossy shine. I know Scottwax recommends Megs Swirl Free Polish (3 on abrasiveness) or Megs Dual Action Cleaner Polish for finishes needing more work. (6 on abrasiveness). Hope that clarifies and not confuses, but I think those are 4 of the best base polishes to try. Btw, I did a freebie this past week using Clay, IHG, P21, Blitz wax. The lady liked it so much she tipped me $50.

Megs #9, and # 7 , swirl free, hand polish are nothing like it, nor is IHG.

Its on its own, the closest results i have had is with megs 9 or swirl free, but as mentioned are more abrasive and dont leave the same finish to the paint as S100 does.

At the moment the best combo i have found is Megs swirl free, s100 sec, megs hand polish to add a little more wetness ( tried ihg results diminished not improved) the top with S100 wax.
