what do you pro detailers think of this as a qd? I can get this stuff at $17 a gallon, and i go through a lot of qd bc i detail multiple cars. How would you compare this to eagle one and final inspection?

Like many quick detailers, 3M Gloss Enhancer is 90-100 percent water and <0.4 percent isopropyl alcohol. The slickness, shine enhancement, and lubricity isn't up to par with Z6 or ClearKote, but it otherwise works well when used for the correct task.

CMA suggests misting it to a wet car after a wash, and towel dry as usual. The minuscule of alcohol might help rejuvenate the wax.

Is this really true? If so, I am surprised anyone even buys QD, especially at the prices that are charged. Why not just put a few mL of ISA into a spray bottle and mix with distilled water?:nixweiss

I think so. I remember reading something to that effect long ago, and 3M's MSDS on their QD says something to that effect (like 95% or so). I think the main reason I tossed out any dreams of home-brewing a QD is that they give more lubrication than trying to mix IPA, car wax, etc. with water. At the same time they leave behind a thin layer of protection that's really slick too. My 2 cents.
