I put invisible mask on my R and I will tell you, I like it on the bumper, you can't even tell it's there, but I just removed it from the hood a week ago for two reasons. One, there was a scratch on it from a 5 year old dragging his luggage on it, two, I couldn't stand the line on the hood at the edge of it.
I actually attempted to polish the scratch off with M105/205, but I ruined it I think, really marred it up and hazed it and I couldn't do anything with it. No big deal as I was super tired of the line, but whatever I did to it, jacked it up good!
With the Sonic Blue, rock chips stick out like a diamond in a goat's ass, so I wanted the mask on it. I did a full polish/seal on the bumper and hood prior to install and made everything "perfect" which seems like it would be key. The mask itself shows a few spots where it's been hit hard and gave itself up instead of the paint which I like. I guess if I had the money, I'd put one on and replace it every other year or so to give yourself a fresh look.
If you DO decide to get one, I can give you the name of a fantastic installer and he does a ton of 'Vettes.
If you want to take a look at mine, let me know, I'd be happy to show you.
