3d in Canada

After many months of zero contact from 3D about getting 3D in Canada (not for lack of trying on my part), Im a bit shocked at the choice of distributor in Canada. Not that it matters, but i thought it would have been one of the established retailers.



I hope the choice doesnt impact the popularity of 3d up here!

From my understanding there will be 1 main Master Distributor and 2 sub-distributors in the works.
 
well..where do i start...i will say im very disappointed that in the 9 months of trying to get a hold of someone at 3D to market the product in Canada, there were no return calls until very recently.



besides that, i believe the one distributor is already set (at least ive been contacted for a meet and greet with them probably due to my incessant calling to 3D) ...the company is really not all that into auto detailing...3d is the only detailing product in their line card in fact. they focus primarily on chemilcals/lubricants and thats about that.



i mean if your not going with one of the established retailers of detailing supplies in Canada (which there are only a couple to be honest) why not at least go with one of the larger body shop suppliers...im not sure its fair that i out the distributor here, as there has been no official announcement that ive read from 3D, but i will say im very disappointed..and i let the Canadian 3d rep who claims he was brought in to "market" 3d in Canada know too.
 
1st and foremost....I do not handle these types of affairs for 3D, but I will up front and share with you what I do know about a recent development with their Canadian market. There has been several people entertaining the option of picking up the line as well as countless detailers/end-users who are very eager to try/buy 3D/HD products. In fact the one that I believe has been accepted sells their existing line of products to over 500-600 car dealers in the Canada and has been doing so for quite some time. To me, that appears to be a huge potential for 3D/HD to be sold in mass quantities. In fact, I also heard talks that an initial order of 2 cargo containers have already been placed. When you make a relationship (contract) with a reseller/distributor, I am under the impression that you give them control of the region/territory they plan on selling within. I also believe that this Master Distributor has agreed to sell products to 2 selected well known & respected sub-distributors as well. To me (again) this comes off as a win-win for all. Mostly because those sub-distributors (each located near the east and west coasts of Canada) would probably be buying product for less than they would if they bought direct from 3D when you factor in shipping/freight/etc.



I'm sorry if this new venture has not gone as anticipated for you. I will certainly pass along this thread to 3D and have them research this.
 
hey no bitterness here David...im just saying im not sure that the master distibutor was the best choice...***(unless the distibutor that contacted me isnt the master distributor..but they made themselves seem like it)***



as far as the 2 selected, the master distributor is making more than 2 calls to the east and west (we both know who those two are...autogeeks of the north!)...



i appreciate you passing it forward to 3d, they may listen to you, but it was a bit of a slap in the face to the many that im sure lined up to introduce the product up here.



i hope it goes well as it is a good product line, but, im just shocked at the master distributor choice is all, given the massive auto body distributors up here.
 
I know the master distributor is in the Vancouver area but so far I haven't tracked down a contact number. I was interested in distributing in my area but unless you are ordering huge quantities it wouldn't be worth the time for 3D or a small distributor. It is funny how long its taken to get a distributor here though. Hopefully the new distributor rolls it out soon though...I hate brokering the stuff over the border myself!
 
it is possible that the distributor that contacted me isn't the master distibutor, but the left me with the impression they were the only one.
