3d/hd

You are thinking of ADAPT. just got some so I cant say how I like it yet. I may be able to use it as AIO compound and then Speed. or Ill go with a Poxy finish. depends on what the customer wants to pay for ;)

Two new compounds were released at SEMA this year aimed at the body shop crowd. The are in green bottles and their name escapes me at the moment. Maybe Ben or David can give a better update on these products.

As Paul mentioned there are 2 new products coming out in the 3D line. A rubbing compound & finishing polish. I'll be posting an official product announcement in the weeks to come.

It was mentioned they were a body shop line? how are they 1on1 with the cut polish or adapt? Seeing as how I just bought adapt and cut? shuould I hold off on HD polish?

Think of the New 3D Rubbing Compound this way.....imagine a harder hitting HD Cut, but with an Adaptive Abrasive additive to amplify cutting & finishing ability. As mentioned, this 3D line is intended for the body shop industry and absolutely kills with a rotary & wool pad. Super quick cut and hardly any buffer swirl even with a twisted wool pad. It's really a must have compound. As far as polishes are concerned, HD Polish is the end all, be all of polishes (hands down/bar none). But, the new 3D finishing polish has more correction power and finishes on par with HD Polish.

freaking awesome, two more things to buy,, Why is it always after you wait and wait, then go and buy,,that 2 more brand new things come out? LOLOL

David--How would it perform with a DA??

Pwaug,
DA or Rotary, its an extremely impressive product in my overly bias opinion. ;)

You will get great results with a DA as well.

January!? Great to hear... does the Finishing Polish have a longer work time than HD Polish? I'll be adding both to my collection!

It will have an insanely long open time like HD Polish. Have not played with it enough to know if it is longer or not.

I'd have to say that because the lubricants are very similar to HD Polish, that work time characteristics are also similar. Keep in mind that no more than 2-3 slow back n forth passes are all that *should* be needed to get the full capabilities of both HD Polish & 3D AAT Finishing Polish. Neither use diminishing abrasives so it's not like there is a "break down" process.

Thanks Dave, will be on the lookout for the new stuff next month.
