303 Streaking on Dash

I really love the way 303 looks on my dash, but every weekend when I do my little "interior touch ups" I wipe the dash down with a damp MF to get all the dust off and it leaves streaks. I guess I could use the dusting attachment on my vac. But I like how a damp MF gets all of the dust off. Is there a diffrent Interior protectant I could use that wont streak as much, and be just as good if not better than my 303?

I always get streaks with 303 too, but only if I apply with a MF applicator. If I use a foam applicator, I don't get streaks. :nixweiss

Did you apply it with a MF applicator?

Sonus Total Eclipse is a nice dashboard protectant. I used it today, and found that if you let it soak in for ~15 minutes, you can get a little gloss out of it. Otherwise if you buff it off right away, you get a very matte finish similar to 303.

What if you apply 303 w/ a sponge applicator and wipe off w/ MF towel? Any streaks w/ that combo?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what you are saying is that you get streaks when you dust your dashboard not when using 303. I too have noticed that the 303 seems to come off with a little water. I think the solution is to not dust with a wet MF, because most protectants seem to come off easily as well. Try a dry MF or the mini CA car duster.

Mikeyc you're correct, not when I apply it, just when I try to do a quick dust down a week later and so forth. As far as the general application process goes, I apply it using one of those small yellow polishing MF's that you get at wal-mart. I don't see how that would make much diffrence tho.

303 doesnt adhere well to surfaces IMO.

Adam's VRT / Poorboy's Trim Restorer on the interior look very similar but dry completely and last well over a month, that being with weekly damp MF wipedowns.

Yes, but they don't provide the UV protection of 303, which can prevent nearly 100% of UV induced fading and degradation! It is no accident that they call it the SPF 40 sunscreen for all your trim and rubber.

My gauss 303 is streaking is because 1. you are not applying enough of it 2. you should let it set for a few and then wipe it off.

I think that is correct. 303 is an excellent product, and I have never seen it streak. It is most likely the products you used before and/or after it that caused the problem.

The key with 303 is to apply a wet coat and then wipe it completely dry. If you are not wiping it dry, the damp MF adds to the problem because excess 303 is on the dash.

does anyone know exactly how long 303 last? i used up my last bottle during the beginning of the summer.

I put it on my tires almost a month ago, and they still look great!

I've found that once I apply 303 or Armor All to a surface (apply liberally, allow to dry, buff off), I can never go back with a damp MF unless I'm willing to remove the product along with the dust. The upside is that these products can be easily removed whenever you want. I suspect that all water based dressings are easily removed with a damp MF. That's one reason I go with non-VOC compliant oily stuff (Hi Temp Grape Tire Dressing) on exterior trim.
