303 stinks like feet! Am I doing something wrong?

I love everything about 303 when I use it on interior plastic parts... Except the fact that it smells like feet every time I use it! The smell absolutely ruins the fresh smell I get from shampooing everything with woolite and conditioning the leather seats.

My bottle of 303 sits in my basement in a cabinet and is always at the perfect storage temperature. The smell seems to be worse if I apply 303 when it is warmer out (80's). I also go over the surfaces with a MF after letting the 303 set in for a bit. Nothing seems to help and it usually smells like feet in my car for a week because of the 303.

Is there anything I can do about this? Am I doing something wrong?

try washing your feet once in a while, or perhaps some closed toe shoes :p haha.. sorry. i couldnt resist, you just set yourself up good for that one.

mine smells like stale sweat ..not really what you want the dash to smell like

i asked around and people seem to think its gone bad due to frost/heat

shame really as i thought it worked nice

I don't see how my 16oz bottle of 303 went bad when it is stored in a basement that is usually around 55-70 degrees year round. It is also about a year old. I think it has always smelled that way. It seems to get worse when applied in temperatures over 75 degrees (of course that usually means my black interior is much warmer than that).

I was under the impression that its just the odor it has. I've only gone through 2 of the large spray bottles over about 10 months time. I bought them both at Tap Plastics, and they both have the same odor-more or less like the OP described.

What's the odor supposed to be like per the 303 company?

You have a bad batch or the product froze at some point, perhaps even before you bought it. I had the same problem and they sent me a replacement, it was almost odorless versus the foul smelling original.

I noticed the 303 I tried today smelt very gross. It reminds me of stale Middle-Eastern food for lack of better words.

I think it's like that IMO. After all it does have UV protection. It's probably the smell of that. If you pick up the bottle and put your nose in it, then of course it's going to smell. If you just spray and wipe it off and it should give some type of light smell which is completely normal. For example, Meguair's interior detailer smells too. Overall, the smell is from the UV protection.

weird, mine has such a faint smell that I never have smelled anything. You guys aren't pouring it over the plastics though right? That stuff spreads a long ways!
