My 303 review...

After using many int. dash, etc. products I broke down and bought the 303 Protectant at one of the local boat/rv supply stores.

I have been using "formula 2001" . In the past I have employed "Nu-Vinyl" and of course "Armor-all"(who hasn't used it?)

I wiped down all vinyl in my car with a damp cotton wash cloth and then applied the 303 to a new foam/terry applicator pad and rubbed it on all int. vinyl. Waited about 5 min. (as per intructions) and buffed with a clean mf towel.

In the famous words of the late Chris Farley "HOLY SNIKEY"!

This 303 is fabulous. Leaves a beautiful satin finish, no oily film or overly slick finish..It is supposed to repeal dust, too-we'll see. That is a problem here in NM. It also has a UV Protection factor and that is a must here. Lot's of sunshine.

Finished the int. and then did all the outside vinyl parts, roof rack, and other trim...looks REAL good.

This product is a little expensive, I paid about $15 bucks for 16 oz. spray bottle but seems well worth it. (I think I could have got it a little cheaper on-line, but with shipping and all...when you have it in your hand, it is hard to put it back on the shelf and order it on-line.)



Anyways...303 gets :xyxthumbs

Where did you get the 303? I've been looking and was going to order online.

Found it at Suburban RV Supply on 2nd St. between Osuna and Montano Rd., in ABQ.



They had 8oz. 16oz. and 32oz. sizes.



That's where I found Protect-all Quick and Easy wash. Also real good stuff!



Are you also in ABQ.?

What kind of car do you have?
 
Red 2002 Mazda Protege5.

Wife drives a white 1995 Nissan Pathfinder.

I also have a 2-door 1970 Buick LeSabre with 73,000 original miles, but the paint is WAY gone on it. Drives smooth as a dream though...

Well, I ran right down there and bought some. I went for the 32oz spray that was in the back of the shelf. There was only one 32ozer with the spray top. Funny enough, it was marked $18.95 while the ones without a spray top were $21.95. Old stock I guess.



I layed my 303 on the counter and the guy says, "Weren't you in here yesterday buying some of this?"



Haha, I told him, "No, but I might know who was."

wearing my glasses when I walk into a store. I could have swore that 32oz. was $28.95!? I would not have paid $14.95 for the 16oz. when the 32oz. was only $4 more,LOL.

I am getting old...

To each their own. On the recommendation of several people on this board, I tried 303 and think it sucks. It also smells like locker room socks. The rest of mine will get used on my tires.
 
303 can be used on tires as well. The finish that it provides on tires is similar to what you see on the dash, door panels, etc. It is not oily or slick looking, but more of a modest/low gloss shine. I've been using 303 on the interior of the Vette for 2 years now and I love it. I do prefer Vinylex on the tires, as it provides a bit more shine than the 303.

dbackfan - Just wondering how 303 failed you? What about it did you not like? I can understand the smell issue - it's not the best in that regard. Just curious about your experience.
 
This stuff is the best stuff I have ever used. It seems to turn plastic/vinyl back to new and without that tacky finish. I use it in the engine compartment and in my wheel wells and dirt seems to have a hard time sticking to it. What really impressed me is when I used it in my engine compartment, after spraying then wiping off my engine looked better than when I first bought the car. I have used other products in the past but they made everything look to accented, taking away from the engines natural look. This stuff has put the life back into my engine. I guess a better example is that it makes thing look like they can be used to be put in a car brochure where as when you use the other products it may look like you are trying to glorify one thing like your water hose. Anyways thats jsut my opinion..

You know how some car care products have a sweet fruity scent or a clean smell? 303 is the exact opposite, but the smell only bugs me for a minute. Go to a store and crack open a bottle. You'll see.
 
I also use 303 on the plastic rear window on my BMW Z3 instead of all that gooey creamy Meguires cr*p that everyone recommends. The 303 protects and nourishes the plastic without spending huge anounts of time trying to rub it off like the other products. I also use it on the vinly on my 1899 Leggett, 1919 Ford Model T and 1931 Ford Model A. If it will bring back the luster on a seat that is 104 years old it's good enough for me!...Michael P.
 
This is helpful info. I got my 16oz 303 locally for $12, but I haven't used it yet (this weekend first time). I have a small amount of Zymol I used on my interior vinyl, but it is almost gone. I really bought the 303 for my tonneau bed cover and tires, and after reading about the smell, I might get more Zymol for the interior. Is there anything cheaper than Zymol that smells okay and doesn't have silicon?
 
You may want to try Vinylex. Again, it does not smell like fruits and berries, but you may find it's scent more appealing.



Personally, I don't think 303 smells "bad", it's just not a pleasing scent. If they did alter the scent, it would certainly enhance application. :bounce
 
The smell of 303 is not that bad!! At least it does not have a chemical smell like many others. Besides, any odor evporates very quickly. Moreover, it is THE ONLY one I will trust on a dash.

303 provides a real dignified luster to vinyl, rubber and leather. Have been using it for 2 years both for interior and exterior applications. If your preference is for that glossy "pimp" shine to go with chrome spinning wheels, this is not the product for you. Otherwise great protectant that makes things look like new - not a shiny rendition of the original product. Check out all the other products in their arsenal as well. I didn't find anything wrong with the smell of 303....at least from just spraying it on my tires and applicator. I'm not a fan of the banana/coconut scent of Pinnacle's dressing. When I first tried this stuff way back, I was pleased at how easy it was to buff evenly on your dash (much easier than other stuff I've tried).
