303 AP fogging clear plastic?

This weekend I detailed my wife's Honda using some new products that I recently purchased.

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant on the interior vinyl and plastic. Where I got some on the dial cluster plastic it seemed to turn the plastic foggy. I tried to remove it but it was still foggy. I applied it with a dedicated MF towel, wipe on wipe off.

What's up with this? Isn't this stuff supposed to be good for clear plastic?

Thanks,

K

303 Aerospace Protectant is generally useful on vinyl/rubber surfaces. It can also be used on plastics, but clear plastic on a dashboard is one area I would avoid. Use a dedicated clear plastic cleaner instead. Depending upon the particular material involved, you may also be able to use a glass cleaner, QD spray, or even just a water dampened MF towel to clean that area.

It did the same thing to the clear plastic on my instrument panel using 303. I "removed' the fogging by wiping the clear plastic with a cloth sprayed with WD 40.

Looks great for now. I'll see what happens when the WD 40 evaporates.

That is strange. 303 recommends using Aerospace Protectant on clear plastic like convertible top windows and headlights.
