This is my 300 I have had for almost 3 months. I clayed it when I first picked it up. Since then I QEW it and use OCW weekly. No build up or streaks are visible. I like its appearance better in subdued light as the flake gets in the way but pics do not turn out as well.

Mmmm, I don't think it's necessary to clay a brand new car. It shouldn't have any containments embedded in the clear unless the dealer drove it to the destination. I could be wrong.

The metallic flake is the best part man! :2thumbs:

Rail dust, brake dust all from transport gets embedded in the paint if the car isn't fully sheltered during transport.

Thanks. Under some light the metallic is so prevalent it looks like its dusty/dirty. I think a standard black might show better.

i have a friend who got his Mazda3 brand new from the dealer, he clayed it, and there was an improvement, so i would say there is a point

as for the SRT8, very nice, just practice what u learn here on Autopia, my pal's Mazda3 is coming up on 1 year old, not a swirl mark to be had, blue is as blue as they come. take care of your paint finish and it'll take care of you! and of course, have fun with your 425 horses of HEMI power!

I have the same problem. I'm not really fond of my Black Mica because of that very reason.
