Hi to everybody

In here I attach some pic of my last detail. The owner is absolutly proud of it and asked for a full detail. The car is around 30 years old and one stage paint system.

It came very deep swirled and I doubt about wet sanding or not. At the end I decided to go with 3M fast cut Rubbing Compoung + 3M Swirl remover + Sonax Pro Carnauba Wax.

Ohhh!!!!!

this hood was huge. It came also with lot of water spots. I spent 1 hour polishing over it.

I used the 3M Rubbing Compoung + yellow pad, then

I used the 3M Swirl remover + white pad, then

I used Sonax Pro hard wax + Cyclo with white finishing pads

You can see here my Flex rotary with the yellow pad installed and the white one the side.

Check out the aggressiveness of both steps on the pads aspect. The yellow one was completely yellow at the beginnig.

You may see my 3000 grit orbital grinder. To be on the safe side I decided not to use it. If something would have gone wrong, my customer would have killed me for sure.

Unfortunately I wasn´t able to remove all swirls. Many of them were very deep. I was afraid of removing too much paint.

Ok always the same dilema. All detailers have it.

I made a mistake, I should have use some glaze to hide those swirls left. The 3M Swirl remover have some filler in it but obviously weren´t enough.

Hey, looking at this pic, seems to be better. Foto tricks I guess.

I have to say the customer was quite satisfied considering how it was before. He was not an expert in paint, and told me to be "perfect". As Autopian, I have to keep improving to get closer to perfection. Fortunately in Europe customers are not so well educated in detailing so many do not notice the mistakes I made.

I hope I can improve!!

I hope you may enjoy. I personally love classic cars and really envy the owner.

It is also a nice market niche. Such customes invest thousands of $ in manteining their cars.

The key, I think, is to gain their confidence. These guys don´t leave their cars to anyone. I hope this customer may bring me more business from his friends.

Great work! Huge improvement. Don't feel bad about the swirls, you're talking 30 years of abuse there! I 've done cars 5 years old that didnt come out that good.
