3 month old black car, ideas on what it needs....

I have used the 1Z stick for 2 years now. Easy, quick, cheap and does the job. You won't regret it.

My only critical thought about the 1Z stick is that if the rubber trim/seals in question directly contacts glass (my old WRX was like that), the 1Z stuff can leave just a little "greasy mess" on the glass even if you let it dry thoroughly. Direct comparison showed that the very similar Wurth brand stick left considerably less of this. But the Wurth stick costs a whole lot more than the 1Z so probably isn't worth it unless the "messy glass" effect is a big issue.

And FWIW, the Wurth stuff in the stick seems different from their aerosol Rubber Care. Not better/worse, just different.

I notice no one uses 303 on leather seats even tho it says it's for leather. Can u do a clean, condition and protect with leather treatment and then 303 or is the "protect" step enough and your just wasting product?

I notices for the amount u get 303 is pretty $$$...

Some people swear by 303 cause of the spf40, I bought it for the plastic trim on my car. Does anyone prefer anything else or something that's better in their opinion?

I suppose the 303 would be OK for treated leather (it's not all that diff from plastic) but it just doesn't seem as "clean" as I'd like. Plenty of people do use it for that though.

Eh, I'd just stick with the made-for-leather stuff; IMO leather doesn't need treated very often at all, mainly you just need to keep it clean.

I do my plastic trim with LSPs like KSG or 845. I've never had any problems with my exterior trim and IMO the whole spf business is overemphasized by companies who use it as a marketing ploy. The dressing-based approaches like 303 don't do it for me...they run in the rain, need redone all the time, and are just generally more of a messy hassle than I want to deal with.

303 is decent on leather for bare protection but yeah, it's too runny and not long lasting on exterior trim. Good product to have although I'm phasing it out and replacing it with PERL which is a more concentrated product

Bill D- Ah, yeah...right. Thanks for jogging my memory. So you're seeing PERL as a 303 substitute, huh?

I have so many jugs of also-ran ETR dressings that I doubt I'll be buying anything else in that category for years (and I don't mean just three or four), but I'll try to keep the PERL in mind.

As an aside, I'm still finding the Ultima trim sealant to be a near miracle-product on the relatively few things I use it for. I might've redone the '93 Audi's rubber sideview bits once or twice in the last few years.
