Mike did the touch up and the work on the hood/front bumper.

This was a:

Clay

Meguiars Single Action Polish with some cleaning (see my thread in products review thread). Meguiars markets it as DACP

Wolfgang Pre-Cleaner

Meguiars NXT via PC/black pad @ speed 4

Meguiars #16 to top (windows too)

Chips were filled in/wetsanded to smooth and buffed out with the rotary and SSR3.

Tires get NXT protectant.

Wheel wells got hotshine foam stuff.

Trim got Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer--I love this stuff!

Car came out excellent! Two questions though, do you guys mix your own touch up paint, and what kind of pad did you use w/ the rotary and SSR3?

No, i didn't mix my own paint, I actually have a paint store that mixes any type of paint i want in any qty. What i have them mix for jobs like this is Dupont air dry acrylic. It is custome mixed to factory specs.

the Rotary with ssr3 was a yellow cma advanced pad.

I was going to wait to post this untill i had the before pictures of the chips, but it seems Corey got impatient :p

Basicly the customer had several really bad chips, and quite a few more that he had touched up using the dealer touch-up bottle, only problem was it was the WRONG color, and it was never wetsanded. What i did was with a razor I carefully chipped away all of the touch-up paint, and i sanded the edges of the chip. Then i dabbed some primer, followed by my touch-up paint into the chip. I waited a while then wetsanded with 2000 Grit untill it was flush to the surface. Then i took the rotary and ssr3 on yellow pad 2x, followed by dacp white pad 2x, then the same process as the rest of the car.

    IMPATIENT? Get to work! :p

Yeah, don't trust dealers for touch up paint. You'd be better off getting it from walmart for christ sakes.

:( we'll just bump the thread when you get the pics developed! :)

no fast and furious jokes? :o just kidding. :D

nice job, that is one sweet car. i'd be interested in seeing the before pictures. :)

Soon, chap...soon.

Mike and I made a little joke about the fart can. :p But since it is a 12 second car...I can accept it.
