I have a situation where 2k-over spray i3 on the door and hood of a white toyota. It won't come off with clay, it is the kind you can feel but not see.

At my disposal I have:

2000 grit paper

3000 grit paper

3M Finesse It Purple

Pinnacle XPT #4

Pinnacle XPT #1

Klasse AIO

Klass SG

Porter Cable DA

Orange, White, And Black 6.5 Lake county foam pads for the Porter

Dewalt Rotary With 6" purple wool pad.

Now obviously I don't want to spend any more money here. What is the best way to remove this overspray with the products at hand.

Ps I've been leaving swirl marks with the Dewault for 15 years, never got the hang of it.

I can order a heavier clay but it just seems easier to knock it down with 3000 grit and polish, but I'm a painter not a detailer.

Try lacquer thinner with a clean terry towel. Then lightly polish.

*2K means a 2 component product. That's any product that uses

a catalyst. But most say 2K referring to urethane primers as opposed

to lacquer primers (no catalyst).

Lol! Spend some time reading. You may wind up getting all new products.

And despite what you may have read about and been told to do, reduce

your rpm's. work smaller sections. There is a "sweet spot" or optimal

balance between the product, pad, pressure, speed for the paint you're

working on. Once you find it, or even get close to it, you'll begin see...

If clay wont work, it didnt when I had some after I did some painting, then I would wet sand with 2000 then 3000 and follow itup with xmt 4 on the PC with a orange pad. I would normally stop at 2000 grit but wit ha PC you should do 3000 just to make sure you get all the marks out.

Or just do 2000 grit and on the wool pad compound it out with the rotary.

If you can find Z-Bar (Production Car Care is one place) it is like 3 or 4000 grit. It will marr but polishing brings it back.
