#26 liquid wax or 3m perfect-it liquid wax?

Has anybody had experience with with either the 3M Perfect-it liquid wax or Meguiar's #26 liquid wax? I'm looking for some opinions on both. I have both of these in paste form already, but I also want to try the liquids on my PC. I'm only interested in these two because they are the only non-cleaner liquid waxes I can buy locally. Any input will be greatly appreciated!
 
ive used the 3m wax and wasnt impressed w/it. If your going with a local wax (no cleaners) you can use the 26. As long as your finish is pretty much swirl free you can use the 7 then top that w/26. Out of curiousity why dont you go w/ something like NXT. I think NXT does a better job especially on metallic paints than 26.
 
I have an Acura TL-S in Nighthawk Black Pearl. The color is basically black with metallic blue flakes. You really can't see the blue unless you look at it at certain angles in bright sunlight. I pretty much consider my car black. I know #26 is considered excellent if you have a red car, but I don't have my red prelude anymore.:(



I already have NXT. I was looking for a carnauba topper.:)
 
If you want a carnauba topper that will show the flakes well, then go with Meguiars #16, S100/P21S or Natty's Paste. All three have a more clear look than #26 does.
 
i would definately stick w/ the NXT on that paint. It might add more depth if you use the #7/81 or 80 under the NXT. But of course any of the toppers mentioned by scott will bring out a little more clear so that blue flake jumps at ya. Love that color.
 
The 3M liquid wax #$$%^& ---> :down ! (flamesuit on)

It's streaking, dusting. (I don't know if they reformulated it) This is the first professional wax I've used way back when I started detailing.



But the paste form ---> :bow

It contains floupoymer which is also present in EO flouropolymer sealant, thus it's durable. The liquid doesn't contain this. Look at the price difference. The liquid doesn't even withstand 1 wash in my experience.



But with #26, there's not the slightest difference in the composition of the liquid and paste. Only that one is liquid and one is solid.



However, #26 (liquid or paste) boast for more durability than 3M Show car wax (even with the paste). But not that much.



I find 3M Show Car Paste Wax to deliver more gloss than #26. But not much difference in the depth.

I have two cans of S100. I also have Blitz, Blackfire, liquid Gold Class, liquid #26 and a mixed paste of Gold Class and Mother's Pure Carnauba(I love variety!) I was asking about the other two because I wanted to use a liquid every now then with my PC. If the 3M is better, I would consider picking one up.

If you're wanting to apply wax with a PC, it doesn't have to be a liquid wax.



You can apply a paste using a small plastic spatula or something similar.



Some use a round foam applicator to transfer the wax from the container to the pad.



Some paste waxes can be popped out of the container and you rub it on the pad.

What liquid wax would you recommend for metallics? I also take care of my mom's car(Graphite metallic Mercedes) and my wife's car(Naples Gold Accord). I won't go the cleaner wax route with them, but I also don't want to spend all day on them either. That's one of the reasons I got the PC.;)

I agree with Jay, both EX-P and NXT look really good on metallics. Another one is 1Z Glanz Wax.
 
Poorboy's EX-P is a pure sealant. Just tried nxt x 2 and a coat of Nattys. I like it very much on my metallic black paint. :)
 
I've used 1Z Glanz and it works great and looks good. However, I had a Nighthawk Black Pearl MDX and the best thing I found for it was UPP. It made the flake really stand out on anything I used it on.



I think you'd be happy with the UPP. I know Scottwax seemed happy with it for the same reason.
 
Have had a gallon of 3M PI Liquid Wax for quite a while. It's pretty nasty smelling stuff.

It contains ammonia, stoddard solvent and lots of other horrible VOC's

The stuff doesn't last that long but the looks are ok.

3M products are getting pretty dated now IMO.

Don't think I've seen a new product or reformulation of current ones for ages

That's why I only have three 3M products



Omikron's liquid synthetic wax is an aussie made one which smells wonderful and looks the goods.

A little dusty but better longevity.



Much prefer the carnauba waxes I have.

P21s, clearkote, natty's,autosmart carnauba gold, pacer rocket
 
It does not appear that the 3M Liquid is getting too many good reviews. Since I haven't gotten it yet, I guess I'll skip it and keep the #26 liquid instead. I hope the durability & shine/gloss will be as good as GuruReports say it is!:D
 
I have used #26 topped with S100 by hand with good results on my Imperial Jade Mica. I haven't tried NXT yet but that will be my next purchase.
