24x12 and I'm Back

Those cabinets look great and are nice and sturdy once installed, but were such a pain. I ordered a total of 12 cabinets. 10 of which are installed. The other two in the basement. But, I had to return 7 of the 12 (4 of them more than once) because they kept getting damaged in shipping. Of course they had to be repacked everytime and on the phone with HD for hours. It was I would say a nightmare and I don't recommend them. They are great now, but for the same price I could have had wall units made and none of the headaches. But I am happy with them now and if we move, I can take them with me.

garage looks great, once I get my place, I will be converting the garage into a detail shop, then have everyone drop off their car to me so I can spend a couple days on it.

Looks good, good luck with the revamp!

Great looking garage!

What did you do with all the stuff you were moving in and out during the transformation?

Ahhh you noticed. Well a lot of it belonged to my friend. So he ended up moving it into his new house or his storage unit. We did end up buying a full kitchen's worth of cherry cabinets from him (originaly to use in the garage) and they ended up downstairs in the basemen along with the washer and dryer. I am going to set up a laundry area for us there with thecabinets. The w and d have already been hooked up. The fridge was sold as it didn't fit throught the basement door. The lawnmower is taking shelter out under the deck and the the garden tools too. My roadbike, mountain bikes got sold and my finacee's Roadmaster went somehwere but I can't remember. The matresses went into a spare bedroom.

All of it found a new home, although most of it didn't stay in mine. :bigups

That's a sweet setup for a single car garage. Looks like things on on the up and up! Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be back in no time...

BTW: that logo is b*tchin'. I'm gonna have to coax my other half to painting something on the wall in my single car garage. I showed her the thread last night, I'm halfway there. Just gotta come up with something for her to paint :getdown

WOW amazing job on the garage! :2thumbs:

I dream of owning a house with a similar garage setup, right now my father's table saws and drill presses consume mine.

Glad to hear everything worked out in the end with your new girl and the detailing business. :heelclick

holy geezus.... epic post

amazing turn around and write up of all events. that's some real crazy stuff going from things being a mess and feeling down in the dumps to ontop of the world after a long time of hard work. as you said - things happen for a reason and congrat's to you and the soon-to-be mrs. thanx for sharing the pics and i think u'r making nearly everyone jealous with your new awesome set-up!

My thoughts pretty much echo every one else's; awesome work.

How do you like those two space heaters? I got one for Christmas that I use in my bedroom and it is a really high end unit (compared to what I was using before). The ones you have match your garage perfectly.

Haha! That cool. Thanks for the ups and I appreciate everyone's kind words. I I bet you could do something with your name (if it's your username) It's a cool name. Shoot me a PM sometime. I was a fine arts student in college ( 1 of my majors) and maybe we could work something out. Best wishes though. Sounds like you have a cool gal too!

Lol! Stay on him. Maybe offer him some detail work if he takes his tools to the basement.

Thanks, again I truly appreciate everyone's kind feedback and ups. It has been a tough couple of years. But I walked through that valley and came out on the other side. Something I thought would never happen. I hope it inspires someone that may be going throught a similar situation to push through and keep hope and faith.

ANything worth anything in life comes through hard work, and this was no exception. I am glad to be able to share it with all of you.
