Ron,

Watch out for the potholes in Detroit, and the giant mountains of asphalt patch in the middle of the road. Don't forget to take a look at Michigan's new state mascot, the orange construction barrel.

At least they are making headway.

Toledo is what upsets me, Christ, will they ever get 75 done through that city?

Hate running around the place, think they must hire all "blondes" to do the design and re-routes.

Ron, don't just watch out for the potholes, watch out for the flying garbage on the highway! They need to detail their roads. :)

Speaking of Michigan, did anyone watch the Michigan / Ohio State Game :) BTW, Snake, tell your cousin I said good job ;D

Ron you never told us what you would like to see happen in detailing.

Uof Ms days are over as the Big Ten Monster. 8-3 and 9-2 seasons for the past four years just do not cut it around here. Many people will be calling for Lloyd Carrs job, even though he just signed a two year contract extension.

24 foot Hallett by Icon

Well I spent my holiday weekend cleaning another boat, a 24 foot Hallett. The owner of the boat is where I should have been?.on vacation, in a much bigger boat somewhere off the coast of Alaska. So I have the key to the detached garage and all the time I need to bond with my polisher.

This boat spends its life in a cozy garage so the biggest issue is water spots.

Washing the boat was a bit tricky because I couldn?t move it, not with my Audi. So, ONR to the rescue.

I tried a few polishes with a few different pads on two different polishers with pretty good results. In all I used Meg 105, Gel Coat Labs Fine Cut Polish, and Meg Ult Compund.

On the wind screen I used Poli Seal. I also used Poli Seal on the rear swim deck area because Menz Power Lock made the rest of the boat so slick I didn?t want to hurt anyone trying to climb in the back.

With the entire boat polished and cleaned, I applied two coats of Power Lock, 12 hours apart. The end result is pretty good, I think. I couldn?t move it for sun shots, but the pics are ok as is.

My main focus was the paint. But I couldn't ignore the interior. Yes, that is a huge bean bag in the boat. It was a beast to move to while cleaning the interior, I just worked around it. To clean up the seats I use Woolite. The rest of the interior was washed down with ONR. Sorry, no interior shots, bean bag restricted. Enjoy! Thanks for reading.

Nice job!

So, just what function does a bean bag that size serve? Seating for a really, REALLY fat chick?

TL <--- don't think I want to see her in a string bikini !

Ya, the bean bag was a challenge and a surprise. I don't remember seeing it when I last saw the boat. And like a huge fat chick, I think I would remember.

Very cool thread BIO!!!! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, Todd! I love a challenge.

Beautiful job! what was your opinion of the Gel Coat labs Polish? I just ordered a jug and have never used it before.

This was my first go at the Gel Coat Labs too. It worked pretty well although the air is so dry here in AZ I am not sure a PC was the way to go. Using a PC it has a pretty decent working time so I learned to keep the pad moist to get the full benefit of the polish. The abrasives are diminishing so I would use a rotary and maybe the wool pad that Properboatcare suggests to break down the polish quicker. It does have a fair amount of correction ability and worth having in the bag. The 50/50 shot I posted was Gel Coat Fine Cut going straight at the water spots with no other chemical to help.
