I was looking into 22ple to add to my detailing service. What do you think of this product? Does it really last for 24 months?! Easy to apply and take off? Also can you wax over this after you let it cure ?

a car club buddy of mine has this on his superbee and he says its awesome..another guy swears by it (never heard that before, huh? lol)

i'm not very familiar with how it is different from say black label coating for instance (on a molecular level) but im sure its pretty good stuff in its own right

unfortunately i cannot afford to hoard coatings for different comparisons. :)

here's his link if you care to take a look at it

I found it very easy to use, looks great, and should have no issue last 24 months on a well cared for cars. That being said I've tested it side by side with some other coatings and I prefer CQuartz Finest and Opti-Coat Pro. Unfortunately you have to be an authorized installer for those two products so you may want to look at CQuartz UK or OC 2.0.

Just my $.02

well now i feel better about not purchasing 22ple

i am impressed daily with my black label paint coating

will IT last three years? who knows i'll probably reapply next year out of boredom
and i might not even have that truck in three years

I bought 22ple trim coating and the rim/metal to give it a try before the paint coating. Wasn't really impressed with either. The trim coating left high/dark spots on some of my trim pieces. I tried to reapply like I was told and still did the same thing again. The metal coating didn't seem like it did anything at all. And did I mention it ruined a couple of my towels? Thank god I used some of my cheaper ones. I would of been REALLY pissed if it ruined my Microfiber Madness towels. For ease of use go with Cquartz. For longevity go with Opti-coat.

The star-ratings are opinionated, but all of the specs/info. are directly from the manufacturer. I only focused on the coatings & wax I offer but it would be interesting to compare them all. Thanks for checking it out.

nice attachment...187 degree melting point for the zymol, ouch!

so theoretically you could put a torch up to opti coat pro ???

I applied 22ple VX1 Pro to my vehicle about 1.5 years ago (the photo above was taken after about 1 year after application). The coating looks great. Gloss is on par with higher end silica coatings, however after about a year the beading started to diminish. A quick decontamination with APC and Iron X and it improved. After that I just decided to top it with Reload, too.

Initial application was a breeze... almost foolproof. I also prefer the pro coatings (ie CQFinest), but if you're looking for a lower cost coating available to all consumers, then CQuartz UK is a great alternative to 22ple. Equally easy to apply and comparable in terms of appearance.

Exo or cquarts for the win. I have applied the EXO amd it rocks. I have seen the CQuartz on a buddy's car and it is also excellent.

22ple saw this at a meet at captree a few months ago and was unimpressed with beading of 22ple. I compared it 2 to EXO. Guy actually asked to see mine bead because he was unhappy with performance. Used some Poland spring. No contest. His was a few weeks old mine a few months. I never used it myself but don't know anyone who is thrilled. Detailers domain sold it at one time and dropped it.
