220VAC PC?

Does Porter Cable make a Orbital Polisher in 220-240w?

Most likely you meant 220-240v (volt). They don't show any on their web-site. www.portercable.com

They do have a way to contact them, so you might want to ask them.

Unless you are in an area where only 220v is available, I can't imagine holding a 220v tool in my hands polishing a car.

Sorry for the confusion. I do mean Volt. I'll be moving to Hong Kong and they only have 220v outlets.

I will try to contact PC directly.

Fixed title for ya hopefully more will reply...

I do remember a long time ago someone in europe looked into this and posted some results....maybe a search will find the thread:xyxthumbs

As far as I know, the PC is only produced in 110v / 60Hz. I am using a PC on 220v 50Hz through a 500W step down transformer, with no problems so far.

All, thanks for the update. Looks like I either have to buy a step-up transformer for my PC or find a different orbital polisher in 220v.

Yep, that was me.

PC won't work with 220-230V.

Transformer is darn expensive. It's not worth it (more expensive than the orbital itself)

That's why I went with another brand I found here.

Where are you located, Kenneth ?

I'm the U.S. now but will be moving to Hong Kong. What orbital polisher do you have?

As the PC is so popular, I didn´t want to miss the original, so I took it to Europe . Now I use my PC with a transformer (500w) and it works fine. The transformer is very cheap, about 10 €.
