2016 Accord new car prep. Why dealers don`t do a proper prep is beyond me. Lady was beyond happy with the results.

looks nice.

How did you "prep the paint"?

What sealants did you use and why?
Polished any imperfections, used optimum paint prep ( basically IPA wipe) to remove any waxes, sealants, or oils, and I used sealants not sold here. I used a synthetic sealant for longevity and hydrophobic for the ease of cleaning. It seems to shed dirt/dust/etc much better than just normal sealant, but doesn`t last as long. This was also a budget job so a ceramic coating wasn`t chosen.

Car Dealers are in the business of selling cars, not detailing them.

Such a simple step to set your customer on the right path and set you apart from every other crummy dealer.

I know it stinks as we expect a brand new car from a new car dealership. The dealership`s that put customer service first, are few and far between.

It`s ok to talk about products you use on Autopia, just no links or advertising. Very nice work. Looks like Iron-x Snow soap.

Ahhhhhhh, got it! Sealant was Adams paint sealant and hydrophobic sealant was Adams h2o guard and gloss (water activatesd acrylic based resin, great hydrophobic properties but doesn`t last longer than a few months). Soap was actually meguiars gold class shampoo & conditioner. One of the best foaming shampoos I have found. Also in a pinch can be found locally.

Nice work sir, totally agree about dealerships not dealing a car properly, I recently spent 16 hours detailing my new 2016 BMW 428 when I got it. That was inside and out full service.

I just bought a new jeep and was surprised how little correction it needed. Granted the dealership barely had it long enough to do damage.

I actually had the vehicle delivered to my house with the sales manager. Me and my wife took off all the shipping plastic from outside and inside the vehicle. We then inspected the vehicle and signed off on the delivery. I never let the dealership touch the vehicle, especially if I order the vehicle.
