2015 Lexus IS350C

My name is Mike
Decided to take a break from meme'ing and do some actual detailing. My original appointment postponed a week (Carnival? -) so did another of mine. For those who recall, I'd bought a 2013 VW Turbo Beetle Convertible (http://www.autopia.org/forums/the-detailers-showcase/43517-toy.html?highlight=) while waiting for my TT to arrive. Unfortunately, a little over a year ago it was totaled (no serious injuries fortunately). Replaced it with this 2015 Lexus IS350C in Nebula Gray. On arrival, I polished it out (Megs M205) and coated (Pinnacle Black Label Paint Coating) and, with periodic toppings (Permanon Platinum), all was right with the world. That is until Xmas Eve when somebody swiped it - hard - with a cart. (SWMBO is very hard on cars.) Got it back from the body shop something over a month ago so decided it time to dress it up again. Lots of new-to-me products on this one (italicized).

Wash - Carpro Reset
Decon - Carpro IronX Snowfoam
Clay - OPT Opti-Clay Fine + ONR
Polish - RUPES LHR21 + LC Cool Wave Bright White + 3D HD Polish
Prep - Carpro Eraser
"Primer" - GG6 + LC CCS White + Carpro Essence
Coat - OPT Gloss Coat

My videos don't seem all that popular but I'm stubborn and am going to keep at it. Got it to under 4 min this time.

For those who don't want to watch the video, here are pics. No Befores - it is my car after all ;) so it had no swirls or other damage (at least since the body shop) plus gray metallic makes them hard to see.

I like your videos. You need to do some talking, though.

Your Lexus looks awesome and I can`t believe you have hardwood floors in your garage. Is it real or tile or floating floor?

Thanks. Talking would actually require thinking about it ahead of time. Hint - my videos aren`t necessarily made in the order they are shot. Lots of "oh, maybe I should try this" and "this might look good" and a fair amount of back-end swizzling going on. Now that I have a format & lighting I mostly like, I might try vocals at some point. Still am looking to improve the videography skills a bit more first.

It is porcelain tile. Very dense and almost impervious to staining. Kinda` pricey but very happy with it.

Beautiful work sir. For the life of me I cant understand how people cant see the difference between clear, glossy, poliahed paint and swirled, "shiny" paint. Guess that`s part of the "sickness" lol

Not really a fan of the new Lexus design language either although the most extreme one (RCF) - in the right color - is striking.

That`s a pretty car, made much more so now! I`m switching from Americoat to Gloss coat for my bottom end priced coatings. Did you do one coat or two? Is it slick to the touch afterward? I think it will last longer than the Americoat did anyway. Looks good there for sure.

Thanks Richy.

1 coat over Essence. Easier to apply and much slicker than OptiCoat 2.0. Beads better, too. In those regards, a big improvement.
